The FDA restricts a psychoactive mushroom used in some edibles The Food and Drug Administration has told food manufacturers the psychoactive mushroom Amanita muscaria isn't authorized for food, including edibles, because it doesn't meet safety standards.

I spoke w/@npr.org's Will Stone about FDA's mushroom edible warning. Some contain muscimol & drugs not listed on product labels such as kava & psilacetin. Many have been harmed by these products' undisclosed ingredients. Public education & accurate labeling is crucial.
