I'm Amber from central Maine. I write all kinds of horror, most with cults or ghosts. I'm a huge fan of Freddy Krueger.

Hi, I'm Vincent, I write gothic and Lovecraftian horror with trans man MCs. Currently playing around with a cyberpunk horror idea though!
Just one? Ghostface from Scream 1, Wesker from the RE games, Candyman, Fatal Frame 3's Reika who I've had nightmares about and more! π

Is it even *really* a vampire fight if none of the participants even so much as fought against a 15th century Ottoman army?
Hi. I'm Anna. I mostly write cosmic and eco-horror.
I was very struck by Helen in The Great God Pan, by Arthur Macjen. Possibly because we only encounter her at arms' length as readers. She's always described or depicted by secondary characters. It's a great way of building dread. #HorrorWritersChat
A group of bats is sometimes called a camp and a camp of Draculas sounds like something you'd find in Dr. Frank-N-Furter's house - which both sounds incredibly wrong and absolutely correct for Dracula.
Amanda M. Blake, purveyor of dark fiction, quiet to extreme, gothic to gory.
Reality has stolen my joy for a # of villains, which sucks. I'll lean into my love for various depictions of Dracula. I also just love the SILENT HILL movie, which is chock full of cool antagonists.

Q2) The antagonist from my contemporary horror, 'Apex', is a big cat - one very much out of place!
In my short story collection, 'Neon Nightmares', the antagonists range from malfunctioning smart houses to genetically engineered monsters and killer robots.

I love effing ineffable. I know a lot of ace stuff uses that because of the additional word-play there lol
I'm K Lucian Jones and I write queer horror, mostly of the supernatural variety (ghosts and demons and vampires).
My favorite horror antagonist is Asami from Audition. I love a scary hot and maybe even a little sympathetic villain π

The Creature: the antagonist and the protagonist depending where you are in the story.
Hello #HorrorWritersChat! Iβm Ell and I write ace horror. My favorite villain/antagonist is either Mrs. Lovett or The Creature (Frankenstein).

#HorrorWritersChat Right now, I'm struggling with a slowdown on marketing. My life has been significantly busy since March, and I'm trying my best to keep up with myself. I haven't had any new releases in a bit, and I'm struggling with finding ways to keep people engaged until my release of book #2.
Getting people to buy/read/review my books. Though just finding time to write is quickly catching up, let me tell you.
#HorrorWritersChat
Ha ha it is extremely funny you should say that because I've just been asked to improve a back cover blurb and I'm basically...
#HorrorWritersChat
I struggle the most with the marketing side.
I never really posted on social media. It's difficult to maintain a public presence. Sometimes, I'll think of TLS as being a character or a persona. I'm a private person, but TLS is a spooky little ghost who loves to post stuff.

My two adversaries are publishing and marketing. It's never been easy to get someone else to look at your work and say "yes" to it, and marketing these days is like using a rubber band to hit a target at near-light speed...
I try and study both to get a handle on those.
I struggle hugely w/ marketing! I'm not someone who enjoys social media, so that combined w/ a strong desire for privacy & a dislike of photos makes for a very difficult time promoting. I deal w/ it by trying to make it fun, eg; going to cemeteries or multitasking w/ fun things!

#HorrorWritersChat I struggle with imposter syndrome. It sucks, because I always have this little voice in the back of my mind that tells me βno oneβs gonna read/like/buy/want thisβ and it never goes away.
I deal with it by just writing anyway. The way I see it, at least *Iβll* like it β€οΈ

Currently the writing process does mean the most struggle for me. Wouldnβt give that up for anything in the world though. Itβs my beloved monster & me.
Sometimes after I publish a blog post I do wish it got read more widely, but also Iβve been surprised how deeply people engage.
Perceive my prissy lesbian eldritch horror!
Q3) My personal antagonist in terms of being in indie author is definitely marketing! It's soooo hard (mostly because I hardly do it, lol)!

Happy #Earth Day, horror fans! Today is the perfect day to read some eco-horror stories, and Twisted Dreams Press has the book for you! Q1) I'm Tanweer Dar and I have written a wide range of horror (sci-fi, cyberpunk, fantasy, contemporary).
My favourite horror villain/antagonist is Sadako Yamamura/Samara Morgan from The Ring.

Tom here!
My horror is supernatural.
Ask for my favorite villain tomorrow and I'll answer differently, but today:
From lit: Dracula. I love the gothic mystique about him at the start.
From film: The Babadook. I saw that film when I got back into writing and it had an effect.

Hi there @HorrorWritersChat It's me, Samantha, your friendly neighborhood multigenre writer whose horror explores lots of subgenres. My favorite horror antagonist (today--you'll get a different answer anytime you ask) is Bette Davis as Jane Hudson in "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?"
A couple of dates have switched around for the COME SING FOR THE HARROWING virtual tour. My interview with @runalongwomble.bsky.social will now be going live tomorrow (23rd), while the Nightmare Magazine interview will be on the 29th (next week).

I need to know what the book was for...research purposes.
Buy my books to fuel my terrible coffee and chocolate addiction while giving yourself weird nightmares!
It'll be fun. Possibly.
I am not liable for any mental distress incurred through the reading of my disturbing fictions... though I would love to hear if you experience any.
my point is in the USA treats voting as an individualist thing, it's expected that people will put all misgivings aside, stand in line for 10 hours, etc. if they "really want something". There is no pressure on politicians to make voting easier because the pressure is ultimately always on the voter
