🦬 Good! They should quit and find new jobs.
They should also know that as someone with hiring power, I will never hire them into any DOI agency.

Help us stand up for our most vulnerable employees! Let DOI and NPS hear your thoughts:

(Click on the link in the second bullet under the National Park Service heading for the form)
Text reads “the national Park service still owes about 100 seasonal employees their salary after the government shut down which is illegal. Bullies always pick on the most vulnerable people in the NPS that’s our seasonal employees.” under the text is a skull and crossbones wearing a Ranger hat.
Text reads “the law requires that all government employees get paid back after the shutdown ends. That’s up to $200,000 of wages being withheld from seasonal workers. Rangers at multiple national parks have not been paid. Not only is the NPS breaking the law, but they are abusing the people who help your run.” In the middle of the page is the NPS arrowhead.
A screenshot of a news article with the headline some Park Rangers are still owed pay after the shutdown and a picture of the shoulder of a uniformed ranger. Below the screenshot text reads “Trump and his administration have been taking every chance possible to take away the rights of rangers. Every day is a fight for what we deserve.”
Text reads “seasonal employees are the heartbeat of the NPS. Despite 24% of Rangers getting pushed out of the NPS we aren’t allowed to hire anyone… How are we expected to keep the parks open when we’re down 1/4 of our staff? We’ve been told to fill all of the vacancies with seasonal employees, but now our seasonal employees aren’t getting the respect (and legal protections) they deserve.” Below the text is a group of rangers with their hands in the middle of a circle.
First they push 24% of rangers out the door, and tell us we can’t hire anyone to backfill those positions. Then, they tell us to fill those positions with seasonal (temporary) rangers—the positions in the NPS with the least protections.
DOGE isn’t gone.
Ask any Fed who had a position affected by them.
They’re embedded, in positions where they cannot be fired.

🦬 I am not kidding when I saw Dems need to start working on RIF language *now* so that new Agency heads can issue RIFs to all lingering DOGEies on day 1 of the next administration.
@naturalresources.bsky.social
DOGE investigations and prosecutions are already overdue
Vought is the 'shadow president', a far-right Christian fascist who co-ran Project 2025 and hates American values of freedom, equality, democracy.
🦬 Oil bro said he was leaving in August because RIFs were supposed to be implemented by then; since they’re actually wildly illegal, he’s been hanging on by his fingertips hoping to see them through.
Who knows how much longer we’re stuck with him??? 🤡🤡🤡
🦬 These people should never be able to hold another position as long as they live (which hopefully isn’t very long!).
🦬 Speaking of DOGE, I like to keep track of all the original wreckers:
One of whom is Amanda Scales, a Musk lackey who went back to xAI after failing out of DOGE after just six months.
She’s unemployed now. 🤡
🦬 “DOGE” no longer exists— its employees have just burrowed into the agencies they were assigned to.
Tyler Hassen. Stephanie Holmes.
⬆️ Just two of the people who need to be RIFed day one of the next administration (assuming they haven’t slunk away of their own accord before then).
🦬 Two things Elon’s little X experiment (showing users’ locations) has made clear are:
1) There are so many more of us than there are of them.
2) What a world we live in…that making rage bait is the only way some people in developing countries are able to survive.
Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*
The little bit of spending DOGE cut has already killed hundreds of thousands and will eventually lead to millions of deaths.

🦬 I remain optimistic that they aren’t intelligent enough to pull that off (see also, the elections from earlier this month).
🦬 The alacrity with which this administration kneecapped federal renewables is infuriating, but also insightful, because it shows that the next Democratic administration can and should do it to oil and gas.

Recruitment ad for ICE done in the style of WWI military recruitment ad with Uncle Sam, that says join ice today $50,000 signing bonus
I couldn’t wait for #AltTacoTunesday to share this link to Jesse Welles performing his song “Join ICE” on Colbert especially after spotting this ICE add on LinkedIn yesterday.
Signing bonuses, & that big, huh? Just last week we couldn’t pay SNAP benefits. 🤔

🦬 “Interior largely rolled out its consolidation effort on paper only and without overhauling operations in any practical way.”

🦬 I’m glad the House and Senate passed the Epstein Files Transparanecy Act, but a general reminder that this administration is anything *but* transparent.
Remember when a court ordered DOI to submit its RIF plans, and they submitted 64 pages of redactions instead?
I remember.
