Started reading this by Alan Moore and for some reason it’s giving slight Robert Rankin vibes.

Still no news on any new Dr Who. 🤨

Why RTD likes this modern Unit so much is beyond me. Beyond dull. And I’ve always found Kate pretty empty. And the decisions to use certain classic villains for finales and how he handled them is bizarre. What if they were giant cgi dullards that did nothing? Amazing!

Had friends saying actually Butlins is good for a weekend trip if you have little kids. So we just spent the weekend there. I think the friends must be on the Butlins payroll.

Crossed the 20000 words mark. Probably be a piece of piss from this point on. 70000 words by the end of the week.

Very few books would genuinely be a five star read. Like, hardly any.

Most productive day yet. It’s lovely when the words are just flying.

11 day run of putting down at least a thousand words on the book each day. The story and characters are taking shape.

I’m really chugging along writing this folk horror tinged murder mystery book. I’ve added a new chapter every day for the last week and a bit. I haven’t been this productive and consistent in years.🕺

Latest book read. I’ve loved Lotz’s horror in the past, but this time it’s a high concept humorous murder mystery. Was fun.

For the book I’m working on, I’ve taken inspiration for the lead character from Sarah Jane Smith, one of the most popular Dr Who companions. To cover my tracks, I have called her Sarah Lane, a code that will be impossible to crack.

Looking forward to the new Catriona Ward novel, but the publisher currently has the ebook up for £12. Which is obviously mad. I can’t imagine ever forking out that amount for an ebook.

Actually, I could probs start writing this today… but I know I won’t manage to do anything this weekend, so Monday morning it is. 📝
