The Trans Rights Readathon Debrief is here!
Let's talk about my thoughts on the books and how much money I donated!

Not me, preparing to buy the hardcover version the day my order of the paperback arrives at the store (which I bought before I even finished the ebook)…
Can you tell this was one of my top reads from the #transrightsreadathon ?

A final wrap-up for my #TransRightsReadathon reading! Twenty-one books is not too shabby (even if it fell far short of my goal).
As in the past, I refuse to pick "favorites," so instead you get a list of superlatives for them all:

Text Reads: ACTION ITEM.Thank you so much for supporting the 2026 Trans Rights Readathon. Fill out the exit survey (also the digital prize pool entry form) on our website. This helps the TRR volunteers to calculate approximately how many readers we reached, how many books we read, and how much money we raised for trans organizations and mutual aid this year. Check out the actions tab on our website to see how you can continue taking action to protect and advocate for the trans community beyond the TRR.
We'd love it if you took the time to fill out our exit survey, and if you donated or fundraised this year, you can win prizes. 💙💗🤍 The form is open through the end of the day at transrightsreadathon.carrd.co

💙📚I crushed my #TRR26 goal and read 21 books!
Now that it's April, I'll be back to my regular reading, which still includes lots of queer books! I also need to catch up on the Netgalleys I've been neglecting (3 April 7th pubs!)
My top books of this #TransRightsReadathon were: (alphabetical order)
#TransRightsReadathon final days includes cover images of three books: Ander & Santi Were Here by Jonny Garza Villa (audiobook version) Orders of Service by Willie Lee Kinard III Femmedom Gangbang Erotica by Esmeralda Quick
The books I finished in the final two days of the #TransRightsReadathon.
I read 924 pages during #TransRightsReadathon and raised $425 for @transjournalists.org for my 1000/1000 goal.
Anyone want to help me close that funding gap? The Trans Journalists Association promotes accurate, nuanced coverage of trans people in the news.

[image: cover of the book The Sapling Cage by Margaret Killjoy. the illustration shows a skull inside an ornate silver cage with plants sprouting all around it.]
[image: cover of Fine: a Comic About Gender by Rhea Ewing. the illustration shows a diverse crowd of people all around Rhea, who holds a notebook and pencil, looking unsure.]
these last two i haven't quite finished yet, but i'm enjoying them both so much that i wanted to give them a shout. SAPLING CAGE has some of the coolest witches i've seen in a while, and FINE is pretty darn fascinating. thus we close another #transrightsreadathon, and i'm off to do my donating.
My final book for the month and the #TransRightsReadathon. Today is the Trans Day of Visibility and I’m reading this novella about a Trans man pitched as: “Equal parts historical horror, Trans romance, and blood-soaked revenge, all set in 1920s Appalachia”
This dedication is amazing.
[image: cover of the book And They Were Roommates by Page Powars. the illustrations shows two teenagers in school uniform, one pulling the other closer by his tie.]
a much lighter pick for #transrightsreadathon, wonderfully fun and silly. it's giving KISS KISS FALL IN LOVE energy, about which i never complain. i read this to fit my romance book club theme, secret identities, but i wasn't expecting to be so charmed by the MC and his lovely, quirky friend group.
[image: cover of the novel Queen of Faces by Petra Lord. tagline: "A pawn dies. A queen rises." the illustration shows the bottom half of a face with a castle growing out of it, a small figure of a girl in a doorway at the bottom of the castle. the face is surrounded by waves and flowing hair, on which sits a butterfly. the illustration is blue and gold against a black, starry background.]
next for #transrightsreadathon is a magical dark academia full of twists and turns. really neat body-swapping concept, and of course i love the ragtag criminal found family.
[image: cover of the novel Lakelore by Anna-Marie McLemore. the illustration shows two Latinx teenagers standing chest-deep in a colorful lake with butterflies landing on them.]
another #transrightsreadathon that'd been on my list awhile! my first McLemore, actually, which is kinda wild. the descriptions in this are so artistic, loved the way the magical realism tied into the characters' emotional journeys. also, always excited when @vico-ortiz.bsky.social is narrating.
[image: audiobook cover of Old Wounds by Logan-Ashley Kisner. the illustration is an ominous inhuman face consisting only of teeth and eyes, rendered in light pink and blue against a stark black background. inside the eyes are the drawn profiles of two teenagers, facing each other.]
before #tdov is over, it's time for a #transrightsreadathon roundup!
i've been meaning to read OLD WOUNDS forever, and it totally lived up to expectations. love the weird tension between the MCs and the complexity of their bond, love the horror movie tropes, love the mystery creature.
it's #tdov and you can download IS MY CHAINSAW A HEART: 13 CENTOS for free for #transrightsreadathon along with the rest of the @kithbooks.bsky.social catalog. with foreword by @sgj.bsky.social ! @csecooney.bsky.social @jordanshiveley.bsky.social & @upfromsumdirt.bsky.social approved!
In March I read 27 books! My biggest month yet, with #WomenInHorrorMonth and #TransRightsReadathon packing the heat!

Review of 'Fell Swoop' by Aleksi Gray. A short and sweet graphic novel with transmasc human and masc-presenting non-human romance, with a side of space adventure. This was perfect for a relaxing read to unwind to. app.thestorygraph.com/reviews/9942... 💙📚 #TransRightsReadathon
For the last day of Trans Rights Readathon and TDOV I wanted to recommend some comic featuring Trans Vampires - yeah there are more of us than you'd expect! Read more: patreon.com/posts/154457361

Have finished 3 amazing books & read more than half of 2 more that I will finish in the next couple days. At $20/book, I’ll be making a $100 donation to our local queer youth center. #TransRightsReadathon
I think I especially recommend The Woods All Black for those of us who read way too many frontier teacher historicals growing up during national park vacations (e.g. Tisha, Christy, etc) before our tastes moved on to include horror. #TransRightsReadathon
The Woods All Black was brilliant fun! Asks what if one goes into the wilderness of the Kentucky hills as a transman working in the Frontier Nursing Service in 1929, and there was something more terrifying in those woods than the residents? #TransRightsReadathon
Cover of Man o' War by Cory McCarthy. A transmasc individual is partially submerged in water, face obscured above the chin level but top surgery scars visible

It’s #TransDayOfVisibility and the last day of the #TransRightsReadathon as well as the last day of #WomenInHorrorMonth! What are you reading today? I’m reading “Moonflow” by @bitterkarella.bsky.social and listening to “Fierce Femmes and Notorious Liars” by Kai Cheng Thom. #TVOD 💙📚🩸🌈⚧️
