An astrophotograph of the remnants of a star that 10 - 20 thousand years ago went supernova leaving this gaseous and dusty remnant that form the Eastern and Western Veil Nebulae.

A rather fanciful interpretation of the Eastern and Western Veil Nebulae which are part of a supernova remnant in Cygnus. Feeling that the whole looked more interesting than the sum of its parts I went for a mosaic.
Big thank you to bsky.app/profile/pmgi... for being generous with the reposting of this image ๐.
Like all the New Forest really catch it at the right time of take yourself off and away from the carparks and you can be pretty much alone.
Bird's eye view is just what I've had this morning, sadly, of the inside of my roof. What I thought was some simple repair work is slowly turning into a money pit nightmare!
Still, how are you?
A path through woodland with flowering Amelanchier to either side.

In early spring there is a New Forest path that I call the Cherry Blossom Walk though strictly it's an Amelanchier walk. In any case it is pretty if you catch the full white blossom effect.
You took the words right out of my keyboard ๐!
I do like the sound of having a 'safe corridor' in your garden. This is in case of a bush fire is it? Or is it simply a route through wild space that joins other larger areas together?
Seems crazy here too. Bluebell season expected late April/early May but it's almost over here!
That's a different view!
The colour of the Beech leaves at this time of year is quite exquisite.

This graveyard is just a wildlife haven!

The Miss!
Return from the dive. Shake and dry before taking to the sky prior to another try. This fishing lark isn't as easy as it looks!
๐๐๐ I don't know, I kind of like it. I know I have sky on the brain just now but it felt reminiscent of a nebula, probably called the Spider Heart Nebula.
Thank you. Who knew the sky was hiding such pretty stuff?

Just remember the 'glamour', be safe and enjoy your dance ๐.
๐๐๐ - I think it's a case of knowing the location, turning up and hoping for an invitation without there being unfortunate strings attached.
It works well. I particularly like that top right image.
I also just sat through the pinned sequence. What a delightful group of images you have put together.
That is a lovely photo. Saw a couple of these chasing insects across the grassy plain at Wilverley a couple of days ago. They are huge!
That's because this is where fairies meet to dance in the perfumed air of a spring evening and the ladies wear the flowers as pretty hats, of course ๐.
Not sure why but that made me laugh. Great start to a Sunday :).
Three Oystercatcher birds in flight from right to left against a clear blue sky.

This image of 3 Oystercatchers in flight reminds me of the porcelain ducks people once had flying across their walls. The plaintive cry of these epitomises the sound of the shore.
You need to watch out for those hoodied crows. It's always the ones wearing hoodies that are up to no good ๐!
Don't know where you'll be staying but if it's the west coast don't forget to have your midge repellent handy. I found Smidge very effective last year.
Bluebells flowering across the ground trees and undergrowth in the background and a dead tree trunk from right to left lies in the foreground.

It's that time! I checked growth a few days ago. The warm weather must have brought things on as they were in full flower yesterday. Looking very good too. Forgot the tripod so this is a hand held 3 image stack to get reasonable focus front to back. Amazed it worked so well.
Oh, I will. This stuff is exciting ๐๐.
Lovely! Looks like a pair of Bubble Nebulae ๐๐๐.
