"The loser has more in common with the winner than with the person sitting on the sidelines.

The winner and the loser each had the courage to try. Both risked embarrassment. Both were willing to face uncertainty. Both were stubborn enough to continue.

Success is endurance in disguise. It belongs to the person who can absorb the losses without absorbing the identity of "loser." It's the courage to start — and to stick with it — that is the real separator. Results tend to find the person who stays in the game.

The sidelines are safe, but sterile. Nothing grows there."

Everyone is low in progesterone. Both men and women need it, especially for hair. But we’re bombarded with its antagonist: estrogens.

I am celebrating the ice storm in Austin by making borscht. My coworker gave me a recipe. I've never had it before, so I don't know how it compares, but I think it's delicious. I don't know why it isn't more red? I wish I could have my Ukrainians over to eat some and tell me how I did.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

I wouldn’t give up the experience of her campaign. It taught me a lot about what is “American” by my reckoning, what I identify with, what I like about myself, and what I love about people.

I keep thinking about this and sharing it with individuals I love. It’s a concept that should be taught in basic psychology, parenting or relationship class.
It’s about how adults in some cultures criticize each other in a constructive and loving way. (Because we missed that in our culture.)

My sister has a hair test company called Parsley Pet and goes to a lot of trouble to give people everything they will ever need to understand the report. A lot of times people include the abnormal lab values in the initial order questions and she addresses those too.

The most terrifying thing I’ve seen is right wingers who see Newsom making fun of Trump and don’t get it. It’s pathological.

The World's Smartest City Is a Tiny German Village In Etteln, smart doesn’t just mean sensors and software. It means solidarity, shared responsibility and thinking big.

Wow, when a fiber optic rollout excluded 55 residences at the edge of this town because of the cost, the townspeople dug the trenches and laid the cable themselves. It made it possible for people to work from home instead of move away.

I wondered what these are. They make me go around when they’re focused on something in my rock path. They’re completely unconcerned I’m there. I have over a dozen different kinds of what I’d call “wasp” here. But at least none are aggressive towards people.

The loop on the hat is right side up "a" which is pretty cool.

Why are the loops on the shirt and hoodie upside down?
