They try to keep their jobs so they can have the healthcare that they deny us and die with a dignity that non-politicians don't get to have. Both parties are not interested in governance, it's enriching themselves. The only way this stops is if y'all stop falling for it.

Atlanta is the most surveilled city in the world outside of China. It has a heavily militarized police force, and is also the headquarters of Flock.

Somehow, the perpetrators of two murders in the city's largest park, one in 2021, and the other in broad daylight two weeks ago, are still at large.

You Literally Have No Idea Who Is "Electable" Stop pretending you do, and stop thinking you should calibrate your vote on who is "electable" rather than on who is pushing good policies that would help you and your community.

A reminder that there is a cottage industry of pundits, academics & "influencers" depicting themselves as Knowers Of Electability™ - but they know nothing and neither do I, you, or anyone else.

The Democratic-voter-as-electability-pundit idea has been an absolute disaster. Just stop.

I'm watching the Jimmy Savile documentary on Netflix and it's remarkable how much it's actually about how Thatcherism hollowed out public institutions such as hospitals so that they came to rely on the largesse of private entrepreneurs who, now being indispensable, were able to act with impunity

H.R. 1 Reduces Medicaid Retroactive Eligibility Starting in 2027 - Justice in Aging Learn how H.R. 1 reduces Medicaid retroactive eligibility starting in 2027, limiting coverage for past medical expenses and increasing risks for older adults.

Imagine a sudden illness lands you in the hospital. You can't afford the medical bills that pile up and aren't enrolled in Medicaid.

Retroactive Medicaid was designed for exactly these moments.

But a new federal rule will cut retroactive coverage from 3 to 2 months for most enrollees.

Let's not forget why this White House, especially Stephen Miller, hates SPLC.

It helped expose Miller as connected and collaborating with white supremacists in the media to spread the white supremacism he learned from the internet.

I’ve lost track of how many times something just like this has happened. The rules seem to be that you can say Congress certified the election, but not that Joe Biden won it

It’s in keeping with the basic idea of the original Colorado River Compact, which was to manage the basin’s water through some negotiation and compromise, rather than strictly following the letter of the law. But the legal foundation of prior appropriation hamstrings negotiations at every turn. Farmers account for the overwhelming majority of Colorado water use—almost a third goes to cattle feed alone—and thanks to how the system was initially designed, their prices are absurdly subsidized. One recent study found that while municipal districts pay an average of $512.01 per acre-foot, agricultural irrigation districts paid an average of $30.32 per acre-foot. Fully a quarter of all Colorado water diversions, all to farmers, cost nothing at all. Such a subsidy is difficult to unwind.

LA sex workers keep each other safe through community, not charity Through peer-to-peer mutual aid, the Sex Worker Outreach Project fights for bodily autonomy and human rights as surveillance of sex workers mounts in LA.

Ahead of the 2028 Olympics, sex work has garnered more attention and surveillance.

For @lapublicpress.bsky.social I spoke to one of the few sex worker-led mutual aid orgs that fills an important service gap that neither charity nor government services can meet. lapublicpress.org/2026/04/la-s...

Trump administration begins refunding more than $166bn in tariffs Claims system launches months after supreme court ruled Trump had no legal authority to impose tariffs

So you and I and everyone else are in effect now refunding American corporations for import tariffs, although we paid for most of them in the form of higher prices — which they won’t now lower because they have monopoly power to keep prices high.

Xavier Becerra Could Lower Drug Prices — So Why Isn’t He? Biden’s health secretary has called on the feds to limit pharma price gouging — but now that he can do so, he’s dragging his feet.

When I think about California's gubernatorial race, theres one thing everyone needs to know about Democrat @xavierbecerra.bsky.social:

As California AG, he demanded the HHS secretary use an existing law to lower medicine prices - and then as HHS secretary he literally refused to do exactly that.

INVESTIGATION: How the U.S. government ignored warnings & shut down America's helium reserve - just before the Iran War has now cut off foreign helium supplies for everything from medical equipment to computer chips.
