Ehi @chi.acm.org I love you, but this year the organization was the poorest ever. Please don’t do that ever again. #chi2026

You say that but I think you mean “awful that so many people couldn’t attend the session”?

Best marketing stunt of 2026 goes to Anthropic for “our latest model is too powerful to be released to the public”. Doesn’t even matter if substantive or not. Still brilliant.

On my way to @chi.acm.org. If you wanna talk about human factors in cybersecurity reach out! Or even if you don’t, would love to talk to you anyway.

heard Tucker Carlson's interview @economist.com. Somebody please reassure me he is not actually trying to be the next president Trump.

His laughter and circular arguments in response to many of @zannymb.economist.com's questions was surreal. I'm shaken.

#CHI26 program is UP! The largest CHI program is now accessible through the SIGCHI app. While we will announce many more tracks soon, the largest section of the program, the papers program, is now available, along side workshops, meetups, keynotes and much more!

Cyber as a counter offensive from Iran would require pre-existent positioning and targeted coordination. Cyber support to kinetic ops ain’t easy. Saw this also during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The US seem to have pulled it off in Venezuela. Highly focused and planned. The opposite of Iran rn.

Air power experts: I am interested in writing something that looks at sixth-gen combat air programmes around the world. In terms of design, technology, size, cost, range, capability trade-offs: what are they converging on, how are they diverging, & why? Thoughts & reading recommendations welcome.

Shouldn’t we just settle for an half an hour offset between DST and solar all year round and never think of this again. Srsly though.

Striking how this column is largely whining and absolutely ZERO explanation of how the tariffs are in any way related to or risolutive of the cause of the whining. For an FT column, I’d say know your audience a bit better. On the other hand ofc it can also be there’s nothing to say about that.
