It gets ragged on for being a series of hallways and while that may be reductively true, it betrays this game's strength. When the game opens up in the antepenultimate chapter, it slows to a crawl. Prior, it's a well choreographed and paced melodrama about gods and fate and yearning of a new world.

Finally I've beaten Final Fantaxy XIII. I stopped and came back to it so many times but had to see it through, even if it meant turning on godmode cheats and powering through the last couple of chapters.

A gorgeous game and story that really kept me guessing. Love the characters.
