"Family is everything" is a tactic toxic families have used forever to drown out family members who dare to break the cycle of abuse. #CSA #SA #mentalhealth #traumahealing #SurvivorSky

Children are being sexually abused, in homes across the country. We know urgent changes are needed. We know there is a need for improved training for professionals to identify and respond to abuse, alongside increased funding for prevention, intervention, and support services. 10/

Been there. "They're too young to remember," my ass. The body always remembers.

Trauma hasn't made me stronger. A big part of my ability to regulate my emotions is frozen in childhood. It's something I have to learn to practice over and over again, because I lost my formative years. #csa #abuse #recovery

Had a creative and healing period, followed by a triggering event over the holidays and week of on and off insomnia. Still not sleeping very well.

They're here too. I've reported accounts made by kids with #csam on bsky already. Twitter/Discord/Insta/etc are cesspits for it.

This is a type of grooming that most aren't familiar with yet, and that needs to change. #csa #csasurvivorsky #grooming

If you are an artist struggling with a nagging discomfort or pain when you work.
Stop.
Go and get that shit checked out and start doing recommended, corrective exercises. It will not get better if you just push through. It will get worse and harder to correct. Please take care of yourself.

they should invent a mode of storing your body that isn't sitting, standing, kneeling, laying down, or leaning

You don't have to "believe in yourself" at all times in trauma recovery. You're gonna doubt yourself. I doubt myself. It happens. It's normal.

Here's what I DO always believe, though: in every moment of decision, I CAN make a choice, even a small one, that supports my recovery.

Let the world understand what happens when sexual predators are not held accountable.

This should never have happened.

It must not happen again

Dear perpetrators: childhood is short and children won’t stay silent for ever. Someday, your crimes will catch up with you.

An image of an iPad and two mobile phones, all showing the ebook cover of The Flying Child A Cautionary Fairy Tale For Adults. The cover shows a girl with blonde hair and a white dress flying with birds against the backdrop of dark and light. She is flying towards the light. She wears read boots on her feet and carries a brown teddy in her left hand.

I was 9 when my abuser raped me in my own home. Other family members were in the house. It is hard to imagine how he took the risk, but he did. He was sure of my silence. I didn’t tell anyone what happened until 30 years later.

I’m pretty sure he didn’t expect me to publish it in a book.

How many people have come out of churches/religions/cults and spoken out about the severity of the child abuse coverups? What have we done to curb this problem? Seriously .....WHAT HAVE WE DONE?

I hope that if it's grooming talking, he heals. But #csa is material harm. It can't be reframed or given new meaning. If you get stabbed, it's just harm. If you get brainwashed by a cult, it's harm. How the world could be different if survivors were treated the same. 12/12 #csasurvivorsky #abuse

So I'm sorry to Jack, but I can't let his words go unchallenged. There's too much at stake. 11/? #csa #csasurvivorsky #abuse

They have their own spaces on the clearnet where they get together and get their talking points straight, and this post is gold for them. "Secondary harm! See, the normies can see it too!" I hope that they won't show Jack's post to a victim, but I know them too well to believe it. 10/? #csa

I don't know how Jack came to this conclusion, and I'm sorry if it's because of grooming. No one deserves it. But Jack has a big platform here, and his words have power that he can't see. The pedos of bsky who follow our tags for fun will eat it up. 9/? #csa #csasurvivorsky #abuse

Society can sometimes find a fuck to give about the first, but struggles with the second. The adultification of the child who behaves sexually because of their conditioning makes people blame them for their abuse. They can't see beyond their adult perception of the behavior. 8/? #csa #csasurvivorsky

I've seen and met so many people who feel this. It's difficult to understand if you haven't been through it, and it leaves us in pain for the rest of our lives.

I've had both: a rapist who held me down, and a "sweet" friend who taught me to walk willingly into their arms. 7/? #csa #csasurvivorsky

I've spent countless hours of therapy trying to teach myself that it wasn't my fault. I understand it intellectually. I don't understand it deep in the heart of my fractured inner child, and that's not something I will change easily. 6/? #csa #csasurvivorsky #abuse

This leaves the child with guilt and shame that they don't deserve, because they've been made to feel complicit. The process of grooming leaves deep roots that we haven't got the maturity to heal as a society. But we don't hear that much about that. 5/? #csa #csasurvivorsky #abuse

In the mind of a young person without the life experience to see it, this is a reasonable argument. It facilitates a bond and gives the child a false sense of agency. "You can choose this," they say. "The world is trying to keep you from this." 4/? #csa #csasurvivorsky #abuse

Jack thinks it doesn't matter because pedos can't help themselves. That's true! But it misses the point that there's an ideology that they use to train their victims to go along with their desires. That they use anything they can to give them legitimacy. 3/? #csa #csasurvivorsky
