Home - Chinook Justice Restore federal recognition for the Chinook Indian Nation. Congress has the authority to recognize tribes — and can restore the Chinook’s rightful recognition that was granted 20 years ago.

Thanksgiving brings up hard feelings. Without federal recognition, we miss out on opportunities to protect our culture, our land, and our language.
So much has been taken.

One of the things I did not realize entirely how much I’d miss by moving is being by the ocean regularly.

And going to Astoria, Oregon for regular wanders as I have been doing since I was little.

OTD modern day Fort Canby: Nov. 22 1805 William Clark wrote: “wind violent from the SSE, throwing the water from the river over our camp and rain continued all day,” and “the wind increased to a storm from the SSE and blew with violence; o how horriable is the day.”
