Screencap of article. Intro reads: There’s this idea that if you want to disappear you should do it somewhere small or remote. Yet it’s in the city that nobody cares about you. There’s more people than you could ever hope to know and they’re too busy with their own lives to bother with yours. It’s as communities get smaller that you see more of the same characters and because there’s fewer they’re more interesting. Conformity becomes the easiest path, especially if your difference makes others insecure.

Is anyone talking about combining rail with the 401? Central Canada is literally designed around it and there's vast swaths of space on the shoulders and the median for most of it's length. Surely there's space for two passenger rail tracks, elevated or buried when needed.

Apparently I have 176 followers here.
I haven't been paying much attention to Bluesky, it was more a reluctant hedge against the future. The County Fence digitization program was designed around the bird site before it was bought out and I wasn't sure where to go next. Maybe this is working.

Screencap of article. Intro reads: So the term ‘gold digger’ has been mentioned a few times here at County Fence HQ lately and, I have to say, it’s not something I’ve put much thought into over the years. Yet it’s turned into something surprisingly interesting to think about. Greg, in fact, has been referring to himself as a trophy husband since ‘the incident.’ He’s rather tickled about it since he’s never seen himself as particularly desirable in that sense.

Screencap of article. Intro reads: In partial answer to Walter’s question, you can create art all day long but the real question is whether you can get paid for it. In the case of Hollywood of the North, I’m not sure I can.

I’ve been a little down in the dumps lately. I don’t have anything that’s going to be marketable on the horizon for a while. I’m struggling to market Naked Dream, which I suppose isn’t that surprising since I’m trying to do so with a regional fencing publication, and the only other project I’ve got ready to sell, more or less, is Gregaro McKool’s Socialist Extravaganza —or— An Exercise in Over-Confidence. Something so weird and specifically regional I don’t think anyone’s going to bite.

Gregaro McKool is back with more thoughts on art, why he does it, and what the hell he's going to do with his deeply niche screenplay.

Screencap of article. Intro reads: Since my last article I’ve been busy. Feature length screenplay busy. That’s right, County Fence has it’s first movie: Gregaro McKool’s Socialist Extravaganza —or— An Exercise in Over-Confidence.
I recently re-watched A Futile and Stupid Gesture, the Hollywood bio-pic about Doug Kenney and The National Lampoon. As the newly minted literary editor of Eastern Ontario’s oldest and most prestigious boundary and fencing publication, I have to admit I found it pretty inspiring. Shortly after I finished my last story I told Jules about the movie while we made a significant dent in his scotch collection.

Screencap of the story "Jules Octavian Loves You." First paragraph reads: Jules Octavian is hopelessly in love with you, Eastern Ontario. And when I say Jules Octavian is in love with you, what I really mean is that you should be very flattered. Jules is no ordinary gentleman. He is a gentleman and that is unique enough. He’s not just painfully stylish, he’s wise and patient too. He knows his love is unrequited but also that it’s because you don’t believe in yourself. Maybe, one day, you will.

They’d tell me that they didn’t immigrate to Canada so I could hang out at grow ops on the rez without cell service. Yet last week I parked my car beside a cornfield, said goodbye for what I hoped was not the last time, and started walking down an ancient stone fence marking the edge of said cornfield.
