Any ECRs interested in joining a journal editorial board? I’m leaving an associate editor position due to upcoming maternity leave and other commitments and am happy to offer suggestions to the journal for a relacement. Broad zoology remit, reasonable workload.

This project (with Stacy Rosenbaum and Nick Grebe) began in the dark days of Covid, and is finally ready to share. We've built a living database of primate paternity data (52 species, 3000 paternities) and completed first wave of analyses of paternity distribution. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Two people stood inside an ice cave which is lit up by this head torch. The cave has a high domed ceiling, lower down there are layers of ice in the walls and large boulders of ice on the floor.

Wait a Minute…What If I Don’t Want to Use AI? AI is everywhere right now. It writes summaries, explains theories, fixes grammar, and recommends playlists. But here’s the thing nobody says out loud: you’re allowed not to use it. Whether you feel…

Bless the librarians of Aberystwyth University for sending this blog out to their students: "Wait a Minute…What If I Don’t Want to Use AI?"

I want to start including conservation success stories at the end of every lecture in my #mammalogy class.

Anyone have recommendations for success stories for any group of mammals? Especially mammals that are perhaps less charismatic and therefore harder to find examples for.

This "conflicting accounts" narrative of the BBC's is a much bigger problem than they seem to think.

The huge issue is not false balance - it's that they're NOT reporting the biggest story of today: the fact the US Government is lying about its own forces killing a US citizen.

There has been an increasing sense in Minneapolis that we are on our own, that our elected representatives are unwilling and/or unable to take action to get these murderous Nazi thugs out of our community. I really hope that changes today. The time for pleading TV hits ended weeks ago.

Well that’s me locked out. No pay for the foreseeable future, all because I refuse to reschedule lost teaching, for which I have already lost pay as part of the strike. Please donate to support @sheffielducu.bsky.social members like me at www.gofundme.com/f/heubvb-sup...
