We now have a mandate for the next 12 months to fight back against this administration who seems hell bent on destroying this university. We will not stand for course closures, compulsory redundancies, ridiculous student-staff ratios, and administrative waste.
-Our third consecutive ballot above the 50% threshold.
-Nearly 65% voter turnout only a few months after the last national ballot
-Of those voting, 76% said they want to strike and 87% said they want to take other action as well.
We are so back. 65% voter turn out 76% say yes to strikes 87% say yes to asos UoN UCU says yes to industrial action and no to cuts, closures, and redundancies. Again.
The results are in. And it's a massive win for our union.

The financial decisions being made by this administration are an existential threat to the university itself. We are currently balloting for another industrial mandate to fight back against these choices.
How do we feel about future nottingham? "It feels as if we're all being made migrant here, constant changing of rules of engagement. I ask: who and what is a university for?" "We need openness and to use the knowledge of staff." "I have real fears about the data that's being used to make decisions, it feels unsafe." "It's the isolation of not knowing whether you matter, whether your aspirations matter." "We have to help the senior management to properly assess our financial alternatives. They really think they have the data and they don't." UCU IS FIGHTING BACK!
