Star Command by Glacie Available for Windows, macOS, Linux

Star Command is in its initial playtest phase!
Play it here and let me give feedback! squeakyfoxx.itch.io/star-command
I'm aware of some of the bugs, like the score not resetting, and the splash screen flag not being set after game over, but otherwise let me know what you think!

Unfortunately looking on your posts, you're not really what I'm looking for

I will keep you in mind though if I ever have a need for your artstyle!

Hi! I'll contact you via DMs, though at the moment I don't have the characters drawn yet! I was planning on doing that within the next couple of days when my replacement graphics tablet gets here

We can definitely keep in contact though!

Apologies again for the lack of updates, I have been super busy moving, but gameplay for Star Command is finally 100% done!

Now all that's left to do is add polish, like proper music, menus, UI, etc. then I'll open up public play testing!

I have one more main gameplay element to finish implementing, that being a UFO that comes from the side of the screen and shoots at the player before moving off-screen if not killed, so after that I will likely start rolling out early alpha playtests, look forward to that!

Apologies for the lack of updates, but progress on the game has been going smoothly! I've changed the visuals to follow gbc limitations instead of NES, which ties in well with the DMG mode I've been planning, as well as general polish and gameplay balancing!

progress update:
took like 5 days of banging my head on the wall, and a friend of mine's help, but I got the explosion effect working, which means gameplay itself is about 90% done!

I gotta add another enemy type next

Thanks! I figured a design like this might turn a few heads compared to the detailed scifi-ish designs out there

Visually, the game at least in my head is planned to look kinda sorta like mega man 11 in visual quality. Not too detailed, still very cartoonish, but not too simple if that makes sense

I am still working on Star Command 2 in the background, and since I forgot to do updates, I'll make a small one now.

Switched everything to 2.5D, got better at 3D modelling, and basically this is where it's at. Gonna work on different weapons next

Taking a small little break from star command 2 to work on completely overhauling star command 1. Still sticking mostly to NES limitations from when I made the nescompo version, but doing it in a modern engine. Hoping to actually release it properly this time.

I finished drawing the refsheet for the character that I posted about a few days ago, and also used this as an excuse to practice writing Japanese, so I translated the english the best I could.

I started this for a very specific purpose which I'll share later on ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ‘€

Getting back into drawing after years of not doing so, designing a character for a game I have in mind x3

very unfinished so far, I'm wanting to do a front facing view too and turn this into a refsheet that I can use to make pixel art out of cause I suck at pixel art #art #conceptart #indiedev

I *wish* there was a way to disable it, it's so annoying, I get it almost every single day

I hate how discord tries to push that onto people
I've never gotten that specific push, but I *have* seen so many times "are you still busy? let people know so they can interact with you!" when my status has been dnd

like, I'm in do not disturb for a fucking reason, leave me alone discord

Honestly I'd be surprised if no one didn't for youtube web at least, it's just css on the actual site as far as I'm aware

Also, Should I switch to making FM(YM2612) music for star command 2(the space shooter thing I'm working on) since it's already going for that Mega Drive aesthetic, or do I stick with 90s romplers?

I think FM could be fun, but I'm not sure where to start with it

Updated to macOS tahoe a couple days ago, and so far I've had literally no issues with it. I wonder why people on reddit had so many issues, did I just get lucky?

Forgot to put it in the post, but you can find Previous Projects here: glacieawn.bandcamp.com

Do note that recent unreleased projects aren't listed here, but I would be more than happy to show them off privately in messages. Thanks for understanding

I wanted to let people know that I'm back open for music commissions! If you need someone with a late 90s style for a game, webcomic, visual novel, or other project, I'd love to work with you.

Reach out to me for more details, like pricing and guidelines!

I have been told that showing updates to the projects I'm working on will help keep me motivated, so here we go

I'm working on a sequel to my first game, star command. currently I have nothing done aside form basic movement and shooting. I'll update when I get more done

Got an SC-8850 in the mail today, and holy *crap* it sounds so good

I'll send an audio demo as a reply to this post, but so far I'm loving this thing. Definitely gonna be my main synth from now on for most things

It's been a while since I posted here, but that's for a very good reason imo

I'm finally moving out of my parents's house. I'm in the process of getting my passport as we speak, and I'm going to be moving to brazil to live with a friend of mine.

Hopefully things will calm down soon..

I recently got a Yamaha MU90! I did a couple arrangements with it, but the one I'm most proud of is one I finished today, which is an arrangement of Dire, Dire Docks from Super Mario 64! Everything except the drums are from the MU, even the reverb. It's insane
