This is an awesome trailer, but my favorite is the new splash screen heralding the return of the 6502 Collective!

There's a new homebrew podcast in town! My first episode highlights Beyond the Pins: The 2nd Frame by @kevinhanley.khangames.com & Peek-a-Brews: soundcloud.com/homebrewalac... #homebrew #beyondthepins #homebrewalacart
I think both sound pretty great😜
Hyped for this story!
That took me to a weird site with pop ups and started automatically downloading weird antivirus software, so...
Thank you!
No but I can if you need
I have tried to find it on your site and it is just nonstop pop ups and I cannot find the game anywhere
Can I buy a disc of this directly from you?
It’s coming!
I have my next assignment for #thevikingandtheninja wish me luck on the next step of this adventure!

For Episode 66 of A Homebrew Draws Near!, I’m covering Annalog for the NES, by mdsteele and published by @theretroroomgames.bsky.social now live on Kickstarter! #homebrew #annalog #ahomebrewdrawsnear www.videogamesage.com/blogs/entry/...
Coming soon: a new podcast featuring conversations with homebrew game developers, talking about their latest games for your oldest consoles
In addition to what M-Tee said, there are about two dozen NES carts of the demo plus two additional beta levels and the debug mode. They rarely circulate though.
I’ve had such a wonderful experience working on the story for Orange Island, that I’ve joined another dev team: Delayed Again, and their game The Viking & The Ninja, helping with PR and other polish! Check out this tidbit of gameplay to whet your appetite!

Looking incredible! Any news on a release date?
Bar a few bug fixes, the Book of Rynn is now feature complete. The road to the demo: story writing, maps, sprites, scripting, music, sfx and none of it will be revealed until it's ready so I may post less until then. Join us on Discord to try it first! #gamedev #jrpg #nes #retrogames #indiegames
An incredible game draws near, join in the fun!
A picture of the 2026 NES homebrew calendar
Recently got my hands on the homebrew calendar from @scrobins.bsky.social and it’s so cool to see all the games in it! A certain sheep may also be featured!
(Yes it’s an e-reader game, but there’s a NES game under the hood. It counts!)
Do it! plz
For Episode 65 of A Homebrew Draws Near!, I’m shining a special spotlight on the pillars of the homebrew community: Joe Paraell, Paul Molloy, Frank Westphal, and Brad Bateman #homebrew #ahomebrewdrawsnear www.videogamesage.com/blogs/entry/...
NES Homebrew Calendar History tidbit #2: Chris Brand aka Deadeye collaborated with Kevin on the 2021 calendar before taking over altogether for the 2022-2024 calendars. Chris is also known for the excellent Homebrew in Focus blog & podcast series.
There’s still time to buy your 2026 NES Homebrew Calendar for that special someone who loves indie retro games!

I'm thrilled the calendar is still going! I didn't think it would become any kind of tradition, but I hope it keeps going another 15 years. Imagine the quality of games that will be coming out then!? I'll be 60. Insane. Ok, let's stop going down this scary rabbit hole. We're old enough as it is.
Sadly the time had come to pass it along to someone else after that. I finally had a career going and carving out time to dedicate to finding people who wanted their games featured and putting the designs together grew harder and harder every year.
I kept the calendar going myself for another 6 years, with the last order I placed myself on December 6, 2020. It was cool seeing the community grow, both in quality of the games being produced and the new people coming in to buy everyone's games and place calendar orders.
