You can adjust more - chin is not fully and comfortably on forearm
Just a reminder that @contingent-mag.bsky.social would absolutely love to run a mailbag on the dumbass arguments about "low enrollment majors" and other things contained in this nested thread if there's a NTT historian out there who wants to pitch it.
The American Institute of the History of Pharmacy (AIHP) recently appointed Dr Kelly O’Donnell to the role of Co-Editor in Chief of its journal.
Welcome! #pharmacy #history Thrilled to have you on board! @kellyodonn.bsky.social @uwiscpress.bsky.social

This is always the archive / stacks I visualize when I am thinking about (lack of) digitization. It's so much! Everywhere!
just move to Philly and there will be things named after you
Look I don't know why Canva doesn't think it can't be both fun and educational and squished those two words together when the image saved, but dammit it WILL be both fun and educational
In break mode yet? Looking for something trashy and mindless to binge now that classes are done? Read with me over break!

not to be too much of a downer, but I have always been skeptical of the "unessay = fun!" slant that folks on social media have taken for years. Integrative higher-order creative thinking is actually far more difficult for students to pull off well. I am really not surprised by this turn of events.
Excited for @lmacthompson1.bsky.social 's epic new history of birth control? She has shared her latest chapter, "Prescribers," with the CHSTM Pharmacy History working group.
We're meeting TODAY at 12. Please join us!

New Short Takes! @rhartholder.bsky.social, Katrina Kimport, and @kellyodonn.bsky.social discuss @rebeccaggrant.bsky.social's Access: Inside the Abortion Underground and the 60-Year Battle for Reproductive Freedom!
I'm currently working on a spring semester event, which MAAAAY just be reading the iconic 1960s novel Valley of the Dolls together over winter break and then discussing it book club style (with some history of pharmacy context) in January. Stay tuned! And join the working group to get updated.
In November we'll host @lmacthompson1.bsky.social, newly announced OAH Lecturer, who will present even newer and more exciting stuff than is listed on her already very impressive OAH bio: www.oah.org/lectures/lec...
Interested in the history of pharmacy? Or just hanging out with me and some cool scholars periodically on Zoom? You are cordially invited to join the Pharmacy History working group that I am co-convening at the Consortium for History of Sci/Med/Tech: www.chstm.org/group/pharma...
I need to submit something this year, but no idea what. If anyone has panel or roundtable ideas, please DM me :)
I am driving two hours each way to/from work on my teaching days, and it is very apparent a few weeks in that I need to up my audiobook listening game. So, what are your favorites? I especially enjoy multiple narrators / full casts.

"It took her nearly two decades to find a permanent academic position. She found occasional work as a visiting professor, filling in for someone on leave for a year or two. She earned grants to fund her research... but she was often living on unemployment benefits"
