Great stuff!
Sharing once again - and highly recommending - the postdoc positions with Antoni. One of the projects is a collaboration with us and the postdoc will include a sojourn in our lab.
Full details about the posts, responsibilities, and selection criteria are available through the links above. The deadline for applications is 22 September 2025. Please feel free to email "antoni.wrobel at bioch.ox.ac.uk" with informal enquiries.
Second project is an HFSP-funded collaboration with the Suskiewicz group in Orléans, France (including an extended scientific visit to their lab). It tackles the functional importance and prevalence of filamentation among transcription factors to better understand the principles of gene expression.
First project is funded by the Wellcome and investigates how receptor selection may influence the mechanism of viral entry. Understanding this will help us better understand past pandemics and prepare more effectively for those in the future.
Our small research team uses structural methods, biophysics, and cell biology to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying viral evolution and host adaptation. More details of our work can be found here: wrobel-lab.org
Dear scientific community,
I am looking for two postdoctoral structural biologists to join my group at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford.

Running Phenix and stuck?
Now you can ask the new Phenix chatbot anything from the 600-page tutorial about how to run any program.
Big thanks to Tom Willinger for making this happen!

Considering a return to study in the life/environmental sciences at Masters/PhD level after time away? Working and wondering if full/part-time study is the next step for your career? Our RePOWER workshop on 13th June in Oxford/online will provide advice and support. iles.web.ox.ac.uk/repower-retu...

That's definitely not the case here!
As for some networks - e.g. Eduroam - new domains seem to get blocked, here's the alternative address of the lab website: tinyurl.com/wrobel-lab
Answering these questions will help us understand some past pandemics and better prepare for those in future.
tinyurl.com/postdoc-wrob... contains the details but please do not hesitate to contact me directly via email antoni.wrobel at bioch.ox.ac.uk with informal enquiries.
Our team investigates molecular mechanisms underlying viral evolution and host changes. Your project will focus on understanding how some viruses can change their receptor specificity from glycan- to protein-binding and how the receptor selection may influence viral entry.
We are currently seeking an ambitious, motivated, and hard-working scientist to join my lab (wrobel-lab.org) at the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Oxford as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. If interested, please go here directly: tinyurl.com/postdoc-wrob... or read more below.
Thanks Elias!
Congrats @msuskiewicz.bsky.social and @mvstaller.bsky.social ! And thanks for all your work and inviting me to contribute - looking very much forward to working together!
We're on the cover of @science.org this week. Awesome work by @florentwaltz.bsky.social. #CryoET is reaching crazy resolutions inside cells, and this is just the beginning. Fantastic interpretation of the proton motive force by @verenaresch.bsky.social. Always a pleasure making #SciArt with you!🧪🧶🧬🌾
An amazing new fully-funded DPhil/PhD opportunity at Oxford and beyond: with great learning opportunities and a lot of supervisors from various disciplines (including myself). Please apply and share with those potentially interested!
We are very excited that our in-situ structural analysis of the Ebola virus nucleocapsid assembly cascade is now published in @cellpress.bsky.social!
That's amazing, massive congrats Melina et al!
Check out the magnificent #baculovirus structure! The unique virion architecture and structural atlas of hallmark proteins place baculo-like viruses into a separate new realm. Many insights into baculo biology and evolution. Collab with the group of Fasséli Coulibaly. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
