Cover of Magic’s Translations: Reality Politics in Colonial Indonesia by Margaret J. Wiener. The design features a textured blue background with the faint outline of a large tree. The title appears prominently in white. Below the title, the subtitle is displayed, and the author's name is positioned in the upper right corner. In the lower right corner the words "with an Afterword by Isabelle Stengers" appear. The overall aesthetic conveys a sense of mystery and historical depth.

Last week I had the privilege to work with brilliant colleagues and friends at Uppsala & Mälardalens Universities, exploring Latour’s modes of existence and HE pedagogies. An inspiring trip; I look forward to our continuing work. #STS #educationresearch @iterc.bsky.social

Today a senior exec from Taylor & Francis replied confirming that T&F journal articles *are* and will continue to be provided to its AI partners for model training, with *no opt-out*. Guess we know where we stand now - academics are creators of data for value generation by Big AI and publishers

O dear o. I can see the obvious practical point for student teachers, but there is so much else they can think with. How’s about a healthy open conversation about belonging/longing (Tim Ingold) or the way physical environments include/alienate/mediate?

Yes it is! I’ve lost track of which chapter we are on… is it [FIC]? Or should we begin with instauration and Vassili’s fab glossaries?

I am rather partial to Aramis - I love the different ‘voices’. Laboratory Life with Woolgar is still my favourite of Latour’s (mostly because I love the behind the scenes ethnographicness of it all). Although the more I read of AIME, the more it is becoming the way I see the world.

Oh ace! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it. I’ve got to the philosophical section of Towards a Theory of Higher Education and like it a lot. More books on my wish list now… Trying out this social media gig for size - feel free to point me in interesting virtual directions.
