My local beach on Easter Monday. Took a while for the film to get back - thought it was colour not B&W, hey-ho.

Today's computer fail. Managed to lose a picture I didn't want to lose. I've a piece in this book. Picture's going back.
UK grid looking very clean today with prices down in the single digits. Strong wind and solar pushing fossil fuel generation pretty close to record lows. Expect this to become increasingly the norm as renewable and storage capacity keep increasing. 🔌💡
Picture shows a puffin lying on its back among rocks, sea and sky in the background
Sad to find another puffin washed up today. There have been so many.
‘I was a bad kid and now I ain’t. I got out ‘coz I could paint.’ Aspects of Myself by Grayson Perry @rammuseum.bsky.social has a sense of self and a sense of place. It’s fab.
Visit on 13 March to Piles Copse, one of few remaining patches of semi-wild pedunculate woodland on Dartmoor. The owners are trying to protect and restore the wood, but Commoners have grazing rights and their sheep are preventing regeneration. Stupid and tragic
Thanks to the brilliant @inkcapjournal.bsky.social I saw this. Felt such solidarity with Sheffield Tree Campaigners. Glad their sustained efforts have been somewhat recognised. Don't we want to live on healthy, leafy, tree-lined streets? Love to Sheffield, the most wooded, greenest UK city x

Animals on money?
Perish the thought that patriotic British people would ever countenance such a thing.
A good Saturday morning out of the mizzle trying to print some of my old negs at #ContactDarkroom in Totnes. Some of them on the drying board here, the chair sculpture used to be near Widdecombe, the magnificent Weekaborough Oak is still there (image needs a click). #Devon #Photography

An ancient Egyptian figurine of a hedgehog blue in colour with dark blue or black bumps to represent the spikes
Happy #NationalHedgehogDay 🥺
This little Egyptian faience model of a hedgehog is from a tomb at Abydos, and was made around 1,500–1,300 BCE.
Hedgehogs had a favourable reputation in ancient Egypt, and were often seen as a symbol of rebirth and renewal of life.
ICE's $100M ad campaign is using the same playbook as the Gestapo & Stasi. The goal? To make repression sound reasonable and patriotic.
Monochrome image of the road from Princetown to Yelverton on Dartmoor. The rain had just stopped and the sun was doing it's best to break through.
The sun will eventually return and bring colour back to Dartmoor.
Worth a quick read if you follow the link.

Sinister, & sinister. ICE also arresting Oglala Sioux people, & reportedly holding them at Fort Snelling, used to imprison & remove Indigenous people in 1862.

Plucked up the courage to run a bath this morning. My unheated bathroom = very cold bathroom. Made me think of this.
Blue and white Earth stands out against blackness over the gray lunar landscape as seen from orbit.
Do you remember the famous #Earthrise photo from #Apollo8? On Christmas Eve in 1968, William Anders turned his camera toward Earth and captured the legendary photo. It showed humans a new perspective, with the moon in the foreground and Earth floating in distant space. 🌎🚀🔭📸
