Tomorrow is my dog's 6th birthday. I've had him four of those six years, and every day Max is still the cutest dog I've ever seen. I am also getting his teeth cleaned, which will cost me a lot of money, but he's worth it. And he loves you too.
Two bunnies, one white with brown markings and one light brown, rest closely together on a rug on lush green grass. A tree and cloudy sky are in the background.
This past Friday we welcomed our 2025/2026 students (including 4 new PhD and 13 new ScM students) to @jhubiostat.bsky.social!

Although I'm moving to GMU at end of July, I'm still so excited to be leading a 6-week summer REU at UofSC starting this Monday! I'll be working on spatial causal inference models for disease mapping with a small team of undergrad researchers. Excited to see what we can accomplish. :)

🚨New paper alert🚨 from the zeelab.org. @dbei-upenn.bsky.social PhD biostats candidate Shalini Ramachandra found high variability in creatinine generation among GN pts over time, yet we usually assume it's stable to calculate sCr-based eGFR 😩. Check it out 👇 www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

A close-up of a colorful insect clinging to the rough bark of a tree, showing a bright pattern of yellow and reddish-brown along its body with green legs and large, dark-tipped claws.
This is a really great grasshopper I found in Amazonas in Brazil. iNat experts are suggesting something in the genus Eurostacris, but I'm clueless and that doesn't seem to be a common genus of insect.
