Vapor Trail, SpaceX Falcon9 Rocket (2026)I’m not sure but I suspect that Elon Musk was flipping a giant bird at liberal California last evening. What you see here is the diffused vapor trail from a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launching Starlink satellites from Vandenberg, California Space Force Base.

The little bastard escaped. As I said to a commenter on FB, if I see it again I’m just going to shoo it out of my photo room and into Char’s art room. As he noted in response, “Sharing is caring.”

When you’re trying to concentrate on processing an image file and a fly keeps buzzing around and landing on top of your monitor, you can either smoosh the little bastard or you can pick up your camera and photograph it…and then smoosh it.

A wonderful, almost abstract, bridge detail by G Dan Mitchell.
