Claims of ‘too much psychological safety’ often ignore the cost: which voices are we suggesting should be quieter, and what might we be willing to miss as a result?

Yeah, I think the FTSU network is an interesting aspect of NHS cultures. In an ideal world, it would be entirely unnecessary, so its sheer existence is somewhat of an indicator of deeper dysfunction. Not that it’s a bad thing though, and the FTSU guardians do great, and very important work.

Yes, and this is part of the problem with the name - we're so used to "justice" needing a victim and a perpetrator who faces the music...!

Oh good question! I believe it's essentially the same thing :) Both "just" and "justice" share the latin root ius/jus, and both mean "right", "equity", "lawful" and "fair".

"Just" vs "unjust" is are outcomes of "justice"? :)

Psychological Safety, Diversity & Inclusion Inclusion is at the core of psychological safety, and must be defined as a central team value. Any individual behaviours or beliefs that don't align with the principle of inclusion must be addressed.

A team is only as psychologically safe as the least safe person on the team, and those with least safety tend to be those who are already minoritised, disadvantaged, or under-represented.

Think about all the things that can fit when we just stop surrendering most of our urban space to cars.

A whole lot of urban life can fit, when we’re willing to rethink our priorities.
