My arthritis has been so bad I can hardly walk or hold a pen. I have a couple big new ideas for writing but my sickly body can't keep up with my brain. Isn't something like this why the cybermen were invented? They always freaked me out more than any other whovian nemesis.
I am looking forward to the Ohio Poetry Association's workshop tomorrow about how writing short forms can inform better writing. When I have mental/physical health problems short forms (flash, haiku et c.) are easier to tackle and less taxing for me. #poets #writing #writers #disabledwriters
...kind of makes me wonder if the world we see is reality or just an approximation that our brains have enough processing power to render....reality as fill in the blanks, based on the blanks we've filled before...there is something poetic about that, i think.
“Our beliefs about the sensory world are shaped through our sensory experience,” from Hyeyoung Shin PhD in article from popular mechanics: Your Brain Creates Its Own Version of Reality—And It’s the Version that Keeps You Alive...
I have been wondering about this too, about what obligations/if any/we have towards other people. I think for me that life is about love, which entails helping unless it hurts, but we should love ourselves first and then love others.
"Allison.
Your heart would beat faster,
If it still beat,
But now you just felt a haunted feeling,
In your chest,
A flurry of ghosts within what remains of you.
You couldn’t let anything happen to her.
You knew you had to help her.
You knew you had to haunt her."

I am starting to feel my seasonal depression reach and twist its roots inside me with its demands for sleep and sugar and sadness.
My best friend, who is almost 80, told me that years that end in 4 are always bad, and 44 is the absolute worst. I've been 44 for 2 months and can attest she knows of what she speaks. #midlifecrisis
I have been thinking a lot about copylefting. If AI can steal my style, my fellow flesh bags might as well have at it too.

A beautiful, lyrical game about more-than-human networks - short and light enough to be perfect for classroom use, to booth.

Turns Out My Online Friend is My Real-Life Boss! By Nmura. An office worker Hashimoto is having trouble with their boss. Use online gaming as refuge, where his buddy "Uma" listen to his woes. What Hashimoto does not know, Uma and his boss are one same. 3 vol. Out
Luddites weren't anti-tech.
They were against technology being used by the capitalist class to capture wealth at the expense of the worker.
I am a Luddite, and a tech enthusiast. They're not in opposition. I want technology that makes MY life better, not that sells my life piecemeal to corps.
Watched a video essay about the failure of streaming and it described physical media as an act of rebellion. I think I like that.
This would be a good time for the Catholic clergy in Los Angeles to show up and help people by peaceful protest.
Is it just me or does a lot of the commentary on the Don/elon division seem a bit...homophobic?

The next time someone asks me if I've taken my meds I'm going to say : yes and my neighbors' too

A mock-up of an open book- on one side there is light mint/robin's egg blue background and the text "The House Archives Built, Revisited" with smaller text in a typerwriterish font. On the other side there is a sepia photo from the 1870's of a Black man standing on a porch with his hands on a chair and his legs crossed in a jaunt manner.
There is so much bad news on micro and macro levels lately, I will share a little personal win. Here is a sneak peek at a very early dummy of the interior layout for my book "The House Archives Built, and Other Thoughts on Black Archival Possibility," upcoming from @wehere.bsky.social press.

I am trying to find ways to do what I can to be a helper right now. This poster is one of the things I made. If you want to use it for any of your personal not for profit liberation activities which will not get me arrested, you can download it for personal use.
