I don't watch the show, either, but this is too real.

I don't have much of a dating life, but social outings, almost invariably, have me getting turned into the executive functioning of the whole thing.

So the more I ask around about this, the more it seems like there just isn't much or any...

And I was wondering about why this doesn't seem to be a topic people are writing about, before it hit me that it's possible that younger autistic advocates simply aren't *writing*.

Literally the autism edition of "Here's how I got out of debt, bought a house, and saved a $1 million before I was 30 and you can, too!" and then it's just "my parents gave us the down payment/a place to live rent-free/$25,000 a year/a cushy nepo job."

Asking once again, but where (if anywhere) are we finding really good writing about #autism and queerness or autism and sexuality these days?

Or are we actually not?

(And also, would do well to remember that "neurotypical" was originally coined as a satirical term.)

When researchers are employed to provide or consult on the interventions they are researching, this constitutes a clear COI that needs to be declared, and the researchers must build protections against these COIs into their research designs.

Until that happens, ABA autism intervention research remains untrustworthy.

This may be one of those incredibly me-specific issues, but...

Did anyone else find themselves reminded very specifically of Oliver Sacks by Dr. Ian Kelson's character in the 28 Years Later movies?

Am I imagining things, or has the paltry percentage of funds going to family services actually *decreased*?

Call your representatives, obviously, but also this is a really good time to remind any military personnel you're in contact with that they have a moral and legal obligation to refuse any order that would amount to war crimes if carried out.

The problem of “productivity” “…Mulan, perceived as inferior through dint of her female body, could be seen to have experienced ableism,” writes Amanda Leduc in her book Disfigured: On Fairy Tales, Disability, and Making Space,…

New blog post!

I've been dissatisfied, for a while now, by the ways in which the disability community often talks about "productivity."

The whole thing about autistic lack of theory of mind has always seemed to me to miss the key point that if you are constantly aware that others think/feel differently, you are unlikely to assume you know what they are thinking/feeling.
