Community Nature Fund - Peak District National Park Foundation

Hi Sean. I am a Trustee of the Peak District National Park Foundation - it might be worth having a look at this fund? www.peakdistrictfoundation.org.uk/community-na...

2024. Best described as a rollercoaster. @johnqb.bsky.social 's mantra of 'Life Happens' held true.

Seeing the Northern Lights in the UK after 10yrs of failure was a high. A life tick. Sharing it with my teenage daughter (who took this pic) made it even more special.

Sir, I salute you. Do you also have a series of mothballed inboxes at full capacity? Asking for a friend.

I also had the Avanti experience yesterday. I left London two hours earlier than planned in the hope I’d avoid some of the madness.
Something has to change with the trains, it’s awful.

Brilliant, thanks for the R tip!

Avanti West Coast staff reminded me of the orchestra on the Titantic today. Rammed train, people standing everywhere including in toilet for 1hr+. Uncomfortable, hot, not a word of apology or acknowledgement when the announcements were made. Brainless customer service.

The #Marple Dads Evening Walking Club was formed 4 years ago in lockdown - our first Xmas do was held at about 200m looking back over Manchester. We've been remiss of late, but last night we got the band back together for a blowy hike up Mount Famine and South Head #peakdistrict.

How's engagement looking for those UK #localgov #comms folks who have dipped their toes into @bsky.app
Examining 112 posts in the UK local authorities Starter Pack (HT - owlernook.bsky.social) feed gives us some idea (with limitations) of the current state of play... minimal engagement.

Not my finest morning. Tried to change flat bike tyre. Put old inner tube back in my mistake, burst new inner by trapping it between rim, put another in (it had a hole), messed the repair up. An hour later I had a functioning tyre. I think I'm tired (tyred???)

Well done @mandypearse.bsky.social on latest Pub Sector Digital Comms Benchmarking Report. 1 of key findings = measurement + evaluation remains simplistic, focusing on outputs not impact.

You got your teen to watch Paddington???? It's now distinctly uncool in our house. Paddington 2 shades it for me - Paddington 3... well they need to stop there.

I bang on about how the comms world misses a trick through limited data literacy and not embracing some of the craft of #datajournalism - @rebeccaroberts.bsky.social shows us the kind of thing that is possible. Superb work!

Anyone else keeping thinking of BSkyB and square satellite dishes when they see @bsky.app handles?

I personally agree - but then I'd also say it makes no sense for anyone connected to the PR business to be supporting and taking money from legally, ethically and morally suspect regimes and organisations... and yet some do.

They are the worst. I'm starting to look back on the days of Pacer trains with some fondness. Yes they were awful trains (water pouring in through the roof was a highlight), but as I recall they never seemed this bad in terms of service and reliability.

Yes, the reaction! Humility is clearly not a concept familiar to Mrs Ingram-Moore

I isolated the immediate words surrounding the word woke in each headline, and then with a mix of ChatGPT and manual grunt work wrangled the MO's assignments of woke into categories, ending up with 130 things that are woke across 8 categories. Then played with #dataviz in R to get to this.
