View uphill into a woodland clearing. The ground is covered by shrubs and bracken. It is the height of summer so everything is in full leaf, lush and green. There are conifer trees at the edge and at the top of the scene. The sun is shining through the trees at the top of the hill and above that there is a patch of clear sky.
Let the sunshine in...

Hooray! The #PeakDistrict has been given government approval (and funding) for a trial run of public transport with regular, frequent, and connecting schedules inspired by Switzerland.
Even urban public transport in the UK is bad at connections. In the past, buses in the Peak District have been […]

A farm track winding downhill between dry stone walls and lush green fields. The verges of the track are overgrown with grass and wildflowers too. There are small trees dotted along the track's course and further trees and fields ahead. Across the horizon, there is a line of distant farmland with moorland above it, although it is too far away to clearly make out. The sky above is pale blue and clear aside from a tiny, distant line of cloud above the horizon on the right.
Happy Monday, folks! I hope you all have a great week, wherever the journey takes you.

A steep sided valley filled with mostly deciduous woodland, both at the bottom of the valley and across the hillsides that form it. It is high summer and the trees' lush foliage presents in various different shades of green. Although some of the scene is not in direct sunlight, there is a brightly lit patch in the centre towards the top of the frame.
"And this our life, exempt from public haunt,
Finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks,
Sermons in stones, and good in everything."

Black and white photograph taken this week of the outflow of one of the millponds on the River Rivelin. #Sheffield was an important hub in the industrial Revolution known as the Steel City. There were 20 watermills and 21 mill-dams over a 3 mile stretch on this river alone, the waterwheels driving the grinding wheels predominantly used to make cutlery and tools as well as optical glass grinding and corn milling. Now they are a haven for plants and birds and a beautiful walk for locals. The photo shows water cascading over wall at the end of a millpond. there is another retaining wall to the right and in the background the mressy foliage of spring trees and bushes.
