All muscle and ligament injuries are tears, just depends to what degree. Generally we only call it a tear if it’s a full tear, complete separation. A sprained ACL is torn, just not fully torn. Depending on how bad it is, surgery could help.

In play, (the) run(s)
There is a party where two representatives from World Baseball Classic team Venezuela (Suarez and Acuna Jr) are dancing with women, and someone from Team USA (assumed to be Judge) is standing in the corner saying "they don't know Paul Skenes was almost in the airforce"
The WBC also brings playoff stakes and intensity to every game, which the MLB season simply can’t do. Every preliminary round game is a potential tiebreaker. Every game in the knockout round is Game 7. The short sprint of stakes and intensity makes it extra fun.
Also, on Season 21 of Murdoch Mysteries, Murdoch inexplicably meets another future Prime Minister (played by Mark Critch) and invents a rudimentary version of Silly Putty that somehow helps him solve the crime.

Dragging this out of Bluesky oblivion to say Y’ALL EXCITED YET????
Technically only one retired number. After Alomar was put on MLB’s ineligible list the Jays returned 12 to circulation. Most recently it was worn by Spencer Turnbull this season. Only 32 is retired for Doc, in addition to 42 being retired league wide.
I know you actually mean 1994 Gwynn from the stat, but there’s a small part of me that looked and thought “Tony Gwynn, 54 years old and half dead from metastatic cancer, yeah he could have hit like that in 2014”
Time was invented by big calendar to sell more clocks…
Also, they’ve played nearly 40% of the schedule, it’s no longer early!
Don’t lump President Camacho in with those dorks! When he was in a crisis, he recognized he wasn’t the best person to lead and listened to the smartest person in the room. Would anyone on that list do something like that?
Don't leave (don't leave)

Where you going? (Come back!)
Hear us out
Don't leave
They’ve put together a terrible team and played a relatively tough schedule to start. It’s not outside the realm of possibility that the 2024 White Sox record for worst single season of all time gets toppled by this Rockies team!
That wouldn’t confirm preexisting biases!
Ah yes, his 60 days in exile. Got me on a technicality!
Did Harper serve non-contiguous terms? My recollection is he was Leader of the Opposition from May 2002 until he became Prime Minister in January 2006, and resigned immediately as leader of the Conservative Party after being defeated in 2015, serving as backbencher until he resigned in 2016.
That assumes Polievre/Byrne were at all capable of pivoting, which they weren’t
You get additional parliamentary privileges. They get additional budget for their parliamentary offices, their own opportunities to ask questions during debates, and recognition for “opposition days” in parliament. Otherwise they’re basically a bunch of independents who like each other.
It’s playoff overtime, anything short of murder is allowed
Until 1995, the Habs were the Anglo Quebec team! The twin phenomena of “Quebec loves the Habs” and “the Habs are French Canada’s team” happened within living memory.
It’s not even really an overpay, no hometown discount for sure, but with the open market rate being $11 million per WAR, we’re only asking Vlad to average 3.2 WAR/season over the life of the contract. That seems very reasonable for a player of his talents.
Allergic to peanut butter. He's angry that George is always snacking on Uncrustables, and he'll never be able to have one.
If you click on the map it opens up a detailed map of the region—that 1 seat in SK is a Liberal seat. The seeming complete collapse of the NDP vote nationally makes projections really funky though.
Appreciate the candour! For such a long term run of success, they must be doing something right with the modelling, but agreed, these kinds of things are decided on the margins and this is the kind of election that has the potential to break a lot of old models due to how volatile things are.
On a single riding basis, I’m not sure how accurate they are, but they’ve both been remarkably accurate over the long term. They’ve got like a 90% hit rate over 18 elections since 2018.
Neither 338 or Polling Canada have their full methodology for the projections posted, since that would give away the “secret formula” but both have good explainers of how they do it

But…that’s exactly what they’re doing? The data itself is publicly available, the seat projections and polling averages are available for free on here and on the site. The only paywalled content is the analysis.
That someone might be me. Not because I get bonked on the head in a fight, but because I eat all 98 oz of popcorn by myself in one sitting and die of sodium poisoning.
