Barger, Kirk and Springer have all hit the injured list in the last week and a half. I asked Vladimir Guerrero Jr. how he & his #Bluejays teammates keep from trying to do too much:

#BlueJays place George Springer on the 10-day IL with a fractured toe.

Recall Eloy Jiménez from Buffalo.

Sounds like this could be close to the minimum of 10 days for George Springer.

If it were later in the year, he may have tried to play through it after a few days off, but the #BlueJays don’t want to push it and have Springer playing compromised.

John Schneider just told us that if it had been later on the season, Springer may have taped it up and tried to play at 65-70% but #Bluejays didn’t want to risk an injury elsewhere on the lower body or anything. Best to shut down for 10 days, at least. Best-case scenario is that’s it.

Tyler Heineman is dealing with some back spasms, which is part of the reason we’re seeing Brandon Valenzuela starting three games in a row.

Schneider also made a point of saying he likes what he’s seeing from the rookie. #BlueJays
