I ran out of characters, so of course #BskyBeer !

My subscription from @thornbridge.bsky.social arrived on Monday, and like a good boy I've waited until Friday to crack on. A collaboration with the lovely people @trackbrewingco.bsky.social , "American Brown Ale" from The Union. Burnt caramel, typical Union smoothness. Lingers lovingly. Good stuff.

Lunch at The Alma. Jack and I shared the hot fish platter (we didn't add the lobster). A couple of pints of Wharf for me.

Trip out for work. Parked next to the decommissioned nuclear power plant at Bradwell. Saw a spooky house. Admired the sea. May have been a bit chilly.

Sounds pretty bloody perfect to me!

As a Marine platoon leader in Vietnam, Mueller was shot and later returned to lead his platoon after his recovery. He received a Bronze Star for valor, a Purple Heart, 2 Navy/Marine Commendation medals, Republican of Vietnam Cross of Valor, and numerous other medals.

Another pretty good beer from Woodforde's, their "Albion Cream Stout". Fairly thin body, but tasty with chocolate and plums.

"Volt" from Woodforde's. An American IPA that's light and fruity up front, with a piney bitter finish. Nice enough.

Next up is "Salted Caramel Lucaria" Ice Cream Porter from @thornbridge.bsky.social . It's absolutely as you'd expect, but the stand out for me is the softened caramel sweetness that lingers.

Listening to this absolute gem from the early '90s. I'm happily revisiting such classics as "Pop Loser", with the chorus: "I'll play my la-la shit for you anytime, la-la la la-la laa".

We've got "Red Mountain" coming in this month's Thornbridge subscription box!

I can vouch for most of those beers based on experience; would love to find Ripple Effect in the wild!

A few pints of Goff's Vanilla Stout in The Alma, watching Scotland beat France in the Six Nations. Stunning work all round! The vanilla is subtle in this, supporting the main act rather than stealing the limelight. Great beer.
