I was taking a picture of the bison and the birds just happened to be in the frame😁

It is amazing they have no fear of such a large creature!

We do the sunflower chips & nyjer mix and they seem to like it. I haven't had luck with sunflowers so we have sawtooth sunflowers instead. They grow about 10 feet tall with have small flower heads that don't produce seed.

A small, pale mushroom sits on the ground in a flower bed. It’s cup‑shaped and light tan, with cracks along its surface that make it look like it has a little smile. The mushroom is surrounded by dark brown mulch and pieces of bark.

In the winter they aren't as bright, they turn more greenish (both male and females).
It took years to get them to my yard, so we let the dandelions grow (my neighbors probably curse us under their breath) and have Black Eyed Susans for them munch.

I've never seen a Lesser Goldfinch. I only lived in the area where they are for a hot minute.

They are so bright during mating season, yet they blend into the environment so well!

I was a bit obsessed with photographing this duck. I must say it was not enjoying me or my camera.

It really was a beautiful duck - the only one like it as the pond.

Thank you so much! It was taken at a butterfly exhibit at the Smithsonian. They had an enclosure you could walk through. It was fun just being surrounded by tiny, winged beauties.
