If we live in a country where such false allegations can be made by public figures about trans people with impunity, we are truely going backwards.

… cleared Beth Upton of any wrongdoing (there were no sexual allegations about Upton) in the Peggie employment tribunal and found that the predator / harasser was Peggie who had preyed on Upton.

Toxicity Warning - The Lunatic Fringe

In the same week that we have main stream lesbians showing responsibility and inclusiveness via DIVA magazine, we have Martina Navratilova using her platform to call trans Doctor Beth Upton a sexual predator.

It should be remembered that the Dundee tribunal …

Trouble with “he’s a decent guy who’s out of his depth” is most of Starmer’s failures are moral ones. Child benefit cap, Mandelson, the Gaza siege, the pledges. If what separates you from your stated principles is how it’ll play in the Daily Mail, it’s hard to argue you are in fact a decent person.

Just say “we thought he was great because he was going to stomp like a bastard all over the left, a thing we were all baying to see happen ASAP. We didn’t realise he was also embarrassingly incompetent and detached from reality”. That’s what happened, it’s why you thought he was great!

I finally moved the TV stand about 2" this week so that I don't get the glare on it. It'd always been maximised for P's viewing, and it's only just struck me that it's mostly just me watching these days.

Nothing's changed. I was being honest about how I feel about an individual trans woman I know, who was a gay man pre-transition, and who I met for the first time post-transition. Objectively speaking, she has physical characteristics that make it fairly obvious she wasn't born female, but she's a gentle, funny person I've never referred to as anything other than 'she' and 'her'. I find it perfectly easy to reconcile my fond feelings towards her, and my experience of her as someone with very female-coded energy, with a belief that she hasn't literally changed sex (and incidentally, she doesn't believe she's literally changed sex, either).

JK Rowling admitting that she won't be transphobic to you as a trans woman if you are "gentle" and "funny" and you have "female-coded energy."

What on earth is "female-coded energy"? Doesn't this strongly suggest that Rowling is a conservative woman who expects women to be a certain way?

A small point from the Mandelson/Robbins saga. Refom and many Tories argue for a civil service than can be more easily bent to the will and whims of their elected political masters.

This is precisely what happened here.

At this point the only reason to call it the Labour Party is it lasts too long, hurts like hell, and people keep popping in and out to check on your genitals.

If they think I'm going to be intimidated by deliberately misgendering on mail sent to my home they are in for a shock!

I do not bow to threats, In fact I'm off to use a female bathroom that it is my legal and human right to use.

I will always be a woman. Fact!

There’s ppl on the NDIS for psychosocial conditions where if the supports are withdrawn they will be a threat themselves & others, costing millions in damages. Framing supports as only open to ppl with “profound disability” exposes the stereotypes and prejudices in public understanding of disability

Beyond anything else, Starmer's complete betrayal of the legally mandated human rights of trans people, and his own previous stated principles to uphold and respect the same, prove him an untrustworthy liar ready to abandon the ECHR whenever the press and his advisors tell him to.

If you're a cis person who thinks that Starmer and his government being appalling on trans human rights is a non-issue because 'nobody's perfect', rather than a telling insight into a fundamental lack of respect for basic human rights law, and a necessary warning for all people to heed...well.

Debunking "Profound Autism" and Anti-Neurodiversity With Ember Green — THINKING PERSON'S GUIDE TO AUTISM Ember Green debunks "profound autism" and anti-neurodiversity, with its cherry-picked numbers, fear-mongering, and speaking over autistics.

As harmful autism disinformation campaigns go, grievance parents‘ attempt to break off “ #profoundAutism” as a separate diagnosis via smearing #neurodiversity advocates is notable—mostly for its spitefulness. Select observations by @embergreen.bsky.social:

Can we talk about how harassment and borderline stalking of trans women by gender critical activists has become entirely normalised?

Why can’t a trans woman do a bloody Parkrun without having her privacy violated and her data amassed on a website?!

Their argument is that you should assume 30mph unless stated otherwise. But when a road has been 40mph for at least 30 years it looks like it's deliberate to increase fine revenue.

It also hasn't stopped fatal accidents, as those who ignored 40 also ignore 30.

The speed limit on a dual carriageway near me was lowered to 30mph last August. The council deliberately did not put up new signage, and some satnavs still show it as 40mph.

Who would? And framing this around political opponents is really problematic.
