A Flock of around 30 Sanderling sleeping at the sea shore. The birds are in a loose line at the waters edge, all in side profile, facing the left with their heads tucked into their wings and standing on one leg. The foreground is a wet sandy beach and in the background a few clumps of seaweed sit on the sand in front of the sea; with small waves rolling into shore.
🪶 @alan678.bsky.social has chosen #Petals&Perches for #birdoftheday; a bird with flowers.
But I’m going with the alt. #WhatTheFlock;
Here’s a flock of Sanderling sleeping on the beach.

Nice shots Rob

Yeah it’s a real sign of Spring for me. First the Wood Anemones, then the bluebells and before you know it everything is up.
Beautiful!
A Bluebell flower head with drops of water hanging from the flowers from a recent shower. The flower is in the bottom right of the frame with six flowers on it, four fully open. There are two lesser calendine flowers behind it and another to the right of the frame. Another bluebell head, yet to open, is in the foreground with the bottom of another visible in the background. The rest of the background is out of focus greens and browns
A couple of bluebell flower heads in focus in the bottom right of the frame with a background of out of focus bluebells and green
A single bluebell flower head growing horizontally across the frame from the right. The flower is wet from a shower and drops of water are visible throughout. The background is green bramble and other vegetation
For this week’s #WildFlowerHour. I feel I won’t be the only one to post Bluebells; but it’s the season!
The forest is a carpet of blue this week and I love it. A short lived but beautiful time of year.

I’d agree with that; I find engagement good if you use the right hashtags and engage with others
😄 I suppose I could give it a go!
Thank you very much Anna!
Thank you Audrey. Rain photos were all I could manage this week unfortunately!
Thanks FOC
Great capture
Been glitchy for me since the crash during the week; perseverance needed!
Great shot Helena
No problem; should have that full for you in a few minutes!
Not again! My disciplinary record is growing! 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks Alan
🤣 You’re welcome to some of ours; it hasn’t stopped for months here! We’re promised a dry week this week but I’ll believe it when I see it
🪶 Alan’s chosen #ABCD as #BirdOfTheDay theme; any bird with part of their name beginning with those letters.
Alt is #CaptionThis; a funny caption.
In honour of this week’s weather I have a Blackbird in the rain.
