AI generated news is the antithesis of generative AI. It makes zero sense and has no value at all.

Ugh. Gained my #Journeywoman reporting experience during 3yrs as a staff writer on the Metro Desk at a #McClatchy paper, The Fresno Bee. Sad to see this formerly great regional outlet descend to THIS BS. 🙁
The wealthy and powerful are going to take everything that we create, repackage it, call it theirs and sell it to us and keeping all of the profits.
Any so called news service that uses AI is off of my reading list. I see AI content and I go the other way. fuck that shit.
AI is theft. AI is evil.
Oh man. Disappointed to see the person saying this as well, my first job as a reporter was at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and Kathy Vetter was a respected person there then.
yiiiikes

Nods in “Institutional Neutrality”
Years ago I decided that taking one day off after travel to recover, do laundry, etc, was an overall gain in work efficiency for the week following a trip. I highly recommend this strategy! Also I am terrible at actually implementing it and I may need to file a formal complaint against myself.
Today when I picked up the toddler, he looked me dead in the eyes and said, “I am trouble.”
There is an old Chinese saying that goes something like this:
“In appearance it is very powerful but in reality it is nothing to be afraid of; it is a paper tiger. Outwardly a tiger, it is made of paper, unable to withstand the wind and the rain. I believe that it is nothing but a paper tiger.”
Which is why I argue that our side needs to actually master these things
It's the same phenomenon I wrote about in the context of Pete Hegseth's inability to do a competent kettlebell swing. It's an entire far-right ideology built around public performance of what the kid from the old Star Wars Kid meme did in private. www.aaronrosspowell.com/3mcb4y7vwqk24
I know I'm always harping on about this but it really is corrosive to public life that our major media institutions are run by people who do not know how evidence works and cannot distinguish between a real social trend and something their algorithm feeds them on tiktok.
I’ve been paying my student loans for over two decades and have only paid off 30%
$204 of interest accrues every single month
I think the only way I win is to not pay it off before I die
Worth noting how many organizations like SPLC neutered themselves and the work that they do, trying to avoid this very moment. Especially since Trump won again. But MAGA was always going to come for them. And eventually, we'll all be targets. No matter how much we tried to remain nonpartisan, etc.
Collins said the new InfoWars won't only poke fun at the far right. He sees it as an opportunity to go after all the "stupid" stuff on the internet and beyond — like influencers pushing beef tallow, van lifers who "shove 80 kids into the back of an RV and call it a house," and AI guys who "have the very mind virus that they think everyone else has." "We want Infowars to be a place where you strive to be instead of a psychopathic website where they sell supplements for your broken penis," Collins said. In his view, there was only one good thing Jones did with Infowars: "It's a great logo. It's a great name for what's going on, unfortunately."

Digital drawing in white ink against a black background of a sweet donkey in profile facing left. Only their head and neck are visible and their short, upright mane is "dyed" the pink, blue and white of the trans pride flag.
Almost time for #TransArtMay, which is a thing I made up where I draw mostly animals of all kinds with the trans pride flag colors incorporated in some fashion.
What kinds of creatures would you like to see? Insects, fish, birds, mammals, invertebrates etc welcome! I could use ideas, help me out?

Domestic shootings in Louisiana and Virginia have seized the nation's attention. But murder-suicide happens more often than you may think.
There are an average of 1.5 gun-related murder-suicides a day, according to Gun Violence Archive — and the majority stem from intimate partner violence.
Yet again I remind everyone (as Elizabeth does in her very next tweet) that "foreigners are corrupting our pure blood with weakness & disease" is Fascism 101. Not some variant, not some metaphorically similar thing, not some echo -- the thing itself.
flipping through a proof of yet another book from a somewhat well known liberal voice diagnosing “where the left went wrong” and i’m struck, again, by the fact that a large part (if not most) of the liberal commentariat simply does not believe that the political right has agency.
MJ's @maxgrobinson.bsky.social says, "@benmckenzie.bsky.social is a gifted storyteller and he does an incredible job explaining the complex scam at hand in a way that’s breezy, informative and enraging."
Now playing in select theaters, see it Tuesday at Princeton Garden Theatre
Karp: I am being oppressed for my religious beliefs!
Me: Holy shit! You are being oppressed for wanting to feed the poor?
K: LOL no...no not those beliefs
Me: So....opposition to war and exploitation?
K: Haha no not those beliefs either
Me: Which beliefs, exactly?
K: Oh, you know the ones
Yeah, “elite” to these people just means “people who are smarter and/or more credentialed than me.”
The funny part is, that class is also generally very tolerant of religious beliefs, even if they don’t hold them themselves.
It’s also worth reading all 22 bullet points and asking yourself “would any of these be out of place in Mussolini’s Italy?”
I’m not saying Alex Karp is a fascist. I’m just saying he’s giving voice to a business-model-with-a-political-philosophy that just so happens to fit comfortably into fascism.
20. The pervasive intolerance of religious belief in certain circles must be resisted. The elite's intolerance of religious belief is perhaps one of the most telling signs that its political project constitutes a less open intellectual movement than many within it would claim.
This bullet point from Alex Karp/Palantir’s latest diatribe strikes me as the best representation of the whole project.
“The elite’s intolerance of religious beliefs…”
Let me stop you right there, Alex. You just made that up. That isn’t a thing in 2026 America.
New AP/NORC poll: "President Donald Trump’s approval rating on the economy has slumped over the past month as the Iran war drives prices higher...with even Republicans showing less faith in his leadership."
Overall approval: 33% (-5 from March)
Approval on the economy: 30% (-8% from March)
For those of you who aren't tuned in, this a call for genocide against disabled people.
