Remember those absolutely hideous syllabaries I posted? I was riffing on the general shapes, set horizontally, and something much nicer is emerging. It’s all curvy with pleasant pointy bits here and there. Greatly simplified from the starter mess.

This cabinet is full of curiosities.
It’s already in the bottom of a crate. Haha…
Old syllabary from a cabinet I am cleaning out
25. My bad.
I owe y’all 24 Sehesjan roots. I owe myself some time to write out some documentation. #conlang
Sehesjan #Lexember 5 & 6 (because I foresee being busy tomorrow)…
5: tesj, THINK (also believe, and to feel in the cognitive sense, etc.)
6: zej (or maybe zei… Undecided), SENSE (physical perception, the root for all senses and the physical sensations of emotions)
Well, I am going to be thinking about this forever now.
Sehesjan root for #Lexember 4: kir, BE
This one will probably get extended in a bunch of directions.
Sehesjan #Lexember 3: tja, MAKE
This root will grow words about doing, making, and just about any creative activity. That is pronounced/tSa/, if you will forgive me for the old fashioned ASCII IPA.
<j> is /j/, <sj> is <S>, and <tj> is /tS/.
Also, I present to you this chill Yule Cat who did not have to eat anyone.
#Lexember 2: Today’s Sehesjan root will be glossed as GO, and it will be used as the base for all kinds of movement and change words.
Sehesjan root 2: het, GO
I draw when I am anxious. I produce *a lot* of drawings. Some are good. Some are this.
It’s #Lexember again! We’re doing a root a day! Today’s root is going to generally be glossed as HAVE, but it has a more general meaning related to possession, so give, take, receive, steal, and to have a trait will all be derived from it.
Sehesjan Root #1: sen, HAVE
This is the face of a dog who wants my sandwich.
Onward.
Taking a break for pizza. More drawing later.
Downtown. Fifth Ave. Caller says that they see out of towners. Caller says they're suspicious.
Opinion: <y> or <j> for /j/? #conlang
Being at work seems to bring out my creative side, just when I am too busy to do anything about it.
What’s on my mind right now:
Is “devour” eat+augmentative or maybe eat+wild?
I have been scribbling down some grammar. There is that. But I will have to type it all up when I get home anyway. /flails around like a muppet.
I left my computer home while visiting family this week. It has slowed my cursed conlanging. Home tomorrow night.
I had quite a bit worked out for last year’s Cursed Conlang Circus, but I didn’t finish it in time. I thought I would revive it for this year, but I couldn’t find the documentation…
…until last night!
But is it cursed? :)
I’m torn between making my cursed conlang absolutely, hideously convoluted and making it simple but abysmally ambiguous. #conlang
I was going to go to a crochet meet-up, but it is at a coffee shop and I don’t have money for coffee AND I do have a conlang to work on.
Here’s a tiny morsel: nominalization by reduplication. Tat, speak. Tattat, language.
Cursed Conlang Circus? Let’s try this again! I am off to a good start.
