Started working on a new #conlang. It's the language of one of my #DnD characters, Temjin. Culturally similar to the peoples of the steppe.

Lashunta Word of the Week
Thali (/θaːli./; spiritual): fate, doom; cosmic balance
Lashunta have a relatively karmic perception of fate. It is not absolute or fully preordained. Yet one’s deeds, whether good or bad, come back, either directly to the doer or to their kin and household. They believe this holds true not only on a social level, but spiritually as well. Right and good deeds not only improve one’s reputation while benefiting house, city, and society, but also draw goodwill from the gods (Noa), and beneficial spirits like the ~Samaea~ (Graces) and the ~Yezaea~ (Muses). Very much ‘As ye sow, so shall ye reap.’ outlook.
This word factored in today’s Chapter 27 within a fairly common phrase: ~Yei o’thali-shei,~ - “As/thus under fate/doom,” within the Upper-Yaro dialect used by Lady Vaeol our narrator, who utters it to accept Captain Dosuaesh’s new mission to ~Qolaryon~ - Golarion. Kaure also uses a related word when she says: ~Aethaldi,~ - “It was ere fated.”
~Thali~ is an archaic word from the Age of the Sage-Queens, preserved via academics. Yaro-Shattersea Lashunta preserves a more colloquial form as a doublet: ~Thaul~ - meaning an omen, harbinger, or foreshadowing.

Lashunta Word of the Week
Mauzuroeo (/mɔːzu.rɔ.e:o./l neuter): honor-feather; individual military merit award

This is a military honor granted for individual bravery or prowess in battle, as opposed to a ~tamauzuroeo~ - honor-fan, which is a meritorious combat award for a military unit. The distinction’s origins lie in legends from the ancient Age of the Warrior-Queens, when a queen would show favor to a warrior by plucking a golden feather from her crown and giving it as a token. Lashunta queen crowns were traditionally made out of gold and jewels to resemble a headdress of phoenix-fowl feathers (lashunta historians speculate that during the prehistoric Age of Legends, tribal queens wore crown headdresses of actual feathers). The recipient may receive a cast golden feather, which they may wear as a badge.
This word occurred in last week’s Chapter 30, in which Lady Vaeol recommended to Master-Captain Dosuaesh that her flagmates Kaure, Erymi, and Oshis should receive honor-feathers for their deeds at the Battle of Saeoel’s Mound, in which they led the right-flank charge that broke the banethings and led to their defeat.
Another related word is ~Mauzuano~ - five feathers. This is the highest military award given by the city of Qabarat, typically for an outstanding act of heroism involving saving the army or the city…and more often than not requiring the sacrifice of one’s life. The word’s origin implies a system of graded awards, based on the number of feathers included.

About Classic Bittic Chapter 6: How Verbs Work

When a verb is combined with one or more content words, the verb loses its independent meaning and turns the following word(s) into verbs.

do food
“eat”

able heart
“able to feel” or “able to love”

rise speech
“begin speaking”

When a verb is combined with one or more content words, the verb loses its independent meaning and turns the following word(s) into verbs. do food “eat” able heart “able to feel” or “able to love” rise speech “begin speaking”

When multiple verbs are strung together in Classic Bittic, then they are interpreted as happening in sequence.

arrive fall 1sg
“I arrive and fell.”

This is the same for verb phrases.

rise search go food 3sg animal
“They started searching for and then will eat the animal.”

About Classic Bittic - Chapter 6. Being inspired by Tokia Pona grammar, I wanted a particle like "li" but have it do more than just introduce the predicate/verb. I then stumbled upon Hindi-Urdu's light verb system and adapted it for Bittic. #conlang
