This album has Cannonball's solo on 'Love For Sale'- one of the greatest things ever. A friend of mine named his cat Guinnevere based on that track in this album. So yeah, this might not be in anyone's top 10 desert island picks, but it's essential anyway.

Vol 1 and 2 (BN), The Sound Of Sonny, Way Out West, The Bridge, On Impulse, SR and the Contemporary Leaders, Newk's Time... But then also later stuff like Next Album, G-Man, the various Road Shows volumes. Everyone loves him up to the mid 60s but his later work deserves more attention.
And when you see it happen to someone you know you'll say 'oh, not U2'.
