We are all forced to weigh which harms we’re willing to except and which harms are our hard lines.
It’s why I never judge people for where they shop. For every bad company we boycott there’s another bad company we use. This is true for EVERYONE and if you claim perfection you’re lying.

I found myself less excited than I thought I'd be, too. Partly because of other things I've got going on, but, yeah, it's hard to root for any primarily-USian achievements right now
Photo of two baby goats snuggled together in a large cat bed covered in soft blankets.
As most of you know, we recently took in a baby goat named Janey. She was an emergency intake from a dairy and would have died if we hadn't intervened immediately. But goats are herd animals and we knew it would be best for Janey if she had a friend or two... so please welcome Cornelius and Floyd! 💕
We are overjoyed that Honey is doing so well, but this has been a very expensive journey that is not quite over yet. We would be so grateful for any donations toward on ongoing fight for Honey's eyes! donorbox.org/mmfs-donate

Here's my cat's bad take: shoes should be banned to make feet more accessible for biting. (I'm the one who thinks it's a bad take, not her)
I never saw that! I need Kagibara in my search life 😅
I don't understand how I'm supposed to work today. I don't understand how anyone is supposed to work today.
Do horses want cake? We conducted an investigation into statements published by @bencollins.bsky.social in the print edition of @theonion.com.

I Work Very Hard, And I Would Like To Try Cake By A Horse Hello. I am a horse. I work very hard at my job of being a horse. When humans say move the heavy thing, I move the heavy thing. When humans sit on top of me and pull on my head, I carry them where they want to go. The main food the humans give me is hay and oats. But I am thinking it would be nice to have a different food. I am thinking I would like to try cake. Yes, yes. Cake. I know all about it. When humans eat cake, it is in glad times. It is the food for a celebration, such as when a woman becomes 47. I have seen cake on the Fourth of July. When humans have a cake, they stand around it and clap hands and smile and say happy birthday at each other. Sometimes there are beautiful markings on a cake, such as balloons or a pink shape. Sometimes the top of a cake is on fire and a boy must blow on the fire with mouth wind. This is the scariest cake. I do not want this kind. But I will eat any other cake. Any cake that is not the fire cake that tries to kill the boy. Please understand: I do not get money for doing work. I do not get to go inside the house. All I am either doing my horse job or standing in my pen or eating food off the floor. I always do these things. But I have never once gotten cake and I would like it very much. I have noticed that human children get to eat cake. But I am bigger than the children. I am more helpful to the farm. Children do not move the heavy things like me or let anyone ride on them. And yet they get cake. Maybe the humans will realize this. Maybe they will say, "You know who deserves cake? That horse. That horse whose back we are always on." Every day I dream about what it will be like if I get to eat cake. Here is what will happen. First, I will walk to the cake and putt my nose at it like hrrfff to make and stomping my hooves to make sure it is not a snake. Then I will trot in a circle to show that I am a horse and I am large. After that, I will nuzzle the cake to …
The horse op-ed is an instant classic. I can't tell you how much joy this piece gives me.
It should be taught in every introductory writing class in no small part because the horse arguments are so compelling. "I have noticed that human children get to eat cake. But I am bigger than the children."
Mine, too, is an absolute menace towards anything resembling a flower 😑, but at least you can get non-toxic fake flowers and put them out of reach of the cat (or as difficult for them to reach as possible)
Only one liberal justice dissented when the Supreme Court decided that it's okay for an anti-LGBTQ+ therapist to tell patients they should force themselves to be heterosexual and cis gendered, despite the fact that we know that doesn't work.

Gothamist NYC parents say Mount Sinai has cut off services for trans kids ahead of federal rule
hi, cis folks!
it’s been a little over a month since the 2 biggest private hospitals in NYC ended trans youth care. some folks thought this was resolved with a judge’s ruling or a letter from the NYAG.
care has *not* resumed!
there’s a simple ask ⬇️ for you, if you’re willing to fight with us. 🧵
This is a great thread. It's a week old but I'm RTing for Trans Day of Visibility to remind people that democracy doesn't stop even when the candidate you voted for gets elected. Mamdani is awesome, and he's YOUR employee. You can and should let your representatives know what they should be doing
was just reminded that tomorrow is april fool’s day and especially this year can we just… not, please
Happy International Transgender Day of Visibility! The Olympics has issued a new policy that ostensibly bans trans women from women's events. It also bans some cis women, but for some reason allows trans men on testosterone to compete against cis women. Great job idiots skepchick.org/2026/03/olym...

Urban spaces in North America are mostly awful, and traditional 19th/early 20th century spaces were torn down or filled in for highways
Graphic that shows a variety of photos around the edge that are in frames that make them look like old polaroids. The photos are of chickens, sheep, pigs, donkeys, rabbits, and other farm animals. In the middle of them there is text that says "we only need 11 more monthly donors".
We began March with a goal to get 100 new monthly donors because regular, predictable donations of ANY amount mean stability for our residents. We only need 11 more to reach our goal - can you help us get there? Even $5/mo means the world to us! donorbox.org/mmfs-donate

A picture of a dolphin leaping out of the ocean, it is nearly perfectly horizontal, 15 feet above the surface with no visible splash. It could easily be confused with flying upward, with no gravitational return to the sea in the future
our mismanagement of the environment has crossed the point of no return, the dolphins are leaving
