Thanks so much for creating this starter pack, and I'd be grateful if you could add me to it : ) !
My interests include competency-based training in mindfulness-based treatments, and empirically mapping the stages of insight in clinical and meditation settings 🪷

Who is the flower : ) ?

Practicing non-identification can feel liberating.
🌼 It’s like a flower blooming— glorious, transient— yet it doesn’t bloom by thinking, ‘I am this bloom.’ 🌼
Have you ever practiced this? I’d love to hear your experiences!

With equanimity, we experience sensations fully:
- without using them to build a story about ourselves
- without turning them into a sense of self
This is the true power of equanimity—it frees us to feel, respond (rather than react), and 🌱grow 🌱 without being tied to limiting narratives

Part 3 of #equanimity's definition:
🌀 Without identifying with sensations 🌀
What does this mean? It’s not about denying sensations or pushing them away. Instead, it’s about recognizing that:
"You" are not "your" sensations

Liquid gold!
Thank you SO much for sharing.
I relate to the writing out the story of the presentation word by word (and cutting it down, again and again!)
Time to try out the “group ideas in 3’s” … that’s new for me!
One of the ways that #equanimity and #mindfulness are MISUNDERSTOOD is as
‘accept things as they are’
But it’s the opposite!!
Equanimity empowers us to
🎯 ACT 🎯
((rather than 😡 REACT 😡))
#equanimity
At a moment-to-moment level, when we are being equanimous, it’s our *sensations* that we are accepting, with a genuine willingness to feel them as they are
… not the other person’s behaviour, the situation we find ourselves in, or the state of the world!
#meditation #mindfulness
Thank you for this - just rejigged things in Settings to try it 🥰
And remembering to continue to care for ourselves in the process … staying connected to a bit of soft compassion in our hearts 💕
Exactly this!!!
When we’re being equanimous in a difficult situation, what is it that we’re “not reacting” to ?
1️⃣ The unpleasant situation we’re in
2️⃣ The other person who’s being unpleasant
3️⃣ The unpleasant sensations we’re feeling

Part 2 of the definition of #equanimity is “without reactivity”
But what exactly is it that we’re not reacting to???

What sensations have you rolled the red carpet out for?
By welcoming them with equanimity, we can create a inner pause - even for just a second or two.
This is the mighty Pause of Possibility! 🪄

With equanimity, we feel the sensations without resenting them or wishing they were different.
And, of course, without trying to change them in any way!
I like to imagine that I’m “rolling out the red carpet” for them - willing to feel them in “all their glory” even if only for a few seconds.

Let’s look at Part 1 of the definition of #equanimity
Question: How do we bring an equal interest to sensations, regardless of their intrinsic pleasantness👍 or unpleasantness👎???
Answer: With a genuine willingness to feel them - just as they are!!!

Equanimity in relationships...a powerful combination!
It has the potential to both increase intimacy while strengthening boundaries, which can sound like a paradox, but they unfold together in the moment.
I'd love to hear more about your personal study piece - DM me if you like!
Equanimity = Bringing an equal interest to pleasant, unpleasant and neutral sensations, without reacting to them and without identifying with them. And one more important tidibit : ) - while continuing to feel them! Published in Mindfulness journal in 2011
Equanimity has many definitions, but this one has been the most clinically useful—and personally meaningful—for me. 😊
I'll unpack it over the next few weeks. Let me know your thoughts!
