Registration now open for @embo.org workshop on the evolution of biological interactions on April 24 - 27, 2026! Come join us in Taipei, Taiwan to see how interactions shaped the genomes of various organisms and meeting people from across the globe. Info: meetings.embo.org/event/26-bio...
Sadly, the conservation outlook for #BiałowieżaForest World Heritage Site is now "critical" largely on account of state border barriers, #militarization and breakdown in #transboundary cooperation. The IUCN released the assessment some days ago: worldheritageoutlook.iucn.org/explore-site...
Exciting news!
The next #PopGroup meeting will take place in Lille 🍟, France, 7–9 January 2026 – just 1 hour by train from London, Brussels, and Paris.
This year, PopGroup will also host ALPHY, the annual meeting of Evolutionary Genomics.

See you there !
hey bluesky 👋 visa hurdles mean I’m looking for opportunities outside the US. I’m a computational biologist (bacterial + phage genomics, postdoc in Koonin’s group @ NIH). I am interested in teaming up on funding apps. reach out if this resonates!
🦣🍖🧬 Fully funded 3-yr PhD in palaeogenomics & bioinformatics! Help me push non-model palaeogenomes beyond their limits @DTU in Denmark.

With #eseb2025 coming to a close, it is time to start making plans for 2026. Interested in the interface of evolution 🧬 and ecology 🌳? Come to our #ExE conference hosted by @uniexecec.bsky.social in beautiful #Cornwall. Leave your email address at tinyurl.com/EvolxEcol to join our mailing list!
Every plant is a cabbage
Lovely!
Similar downgrading is planned in Poland but we'll see how it comes out.
I am looking for a postdoc! Pls share

Fantastic. I missed it somehow 🫤

First snow in Warsaw yesterday. Sadly, most of it has melted already.
Add me too, please.
I'd like to be added if I qualify

We’re excited to consider applicants for scholarships for our 2025 Biology of Vector-borne Diseases course! See our advert below. Please re-skeet to trainees and colleagues, as graduate students to faculty and practitioners across plant, animal and human health can apply.
I thought the influx of new BSkyers was a good reason to repost that I am co-editing a Collection at BMC Biology on " #Evolution of #Immunity". If you work on any of the topics listed in the link below, please consider submitting! 🦠🧪🪰

We used the Central Europan wolf monitoring database to calibrate molecular Ne estimating methods with Ne derived from life-history traits.
This shows the number of wolf packs is a good approximation of the effective size.

Today, this logo miraculously appeared at our house. Is it a sign? Should I reject #Linux and set back on the right path?
I am looking for a graduate student and a postdoc to join my group! We are a computational group working on understanding evolution in natural populations with a large emphasis on the microbiome. Please get in touch by dm or email! garud.eeb.ucla.edu
I'm looking to recruit a PhD student beginning in Fall 2024 to develop theory and methods for studying genotype-by-environment interactions. We're specifically interested in how GxE is affected by phenomena such as habitat choice. Please share and get in touch ASAP if interested!
