Just like children of different heights need tailor-made clothes, neurons born at different times follow their own specific "temporal neuronal differentiation program" to lock in their identities.

How does the brain ensure its billions of neurons grow properly? 🧠
A new study by researchers at #PekingUniversity reveals a previously unknown customized differentiation program for neurons.

This work reveals MIGs as safer, high-specificity therapeutic targets, advancing precision oncology and immunotherapy strategies.
#PKUResearch #Oncology
Using pancancer genomics, single-cell transcriptomics, and CRISPR screening, they identified 1,020 MIGs, highlighting CHEK1 in lung adenocarcinoma. Blocking CHEK1 slows tumor growth and boosts immune response, while its high activity is linked to immune suppression and poorer anti-PD-1 outcomes.
🔬 Rethinking #Cancer Vulnerabilities: Targeting What Tumors Cannot Lose
A team from #PekingUniversity Third Hospital, together with collaborators, explored genes that cancer cells cannot live without, known as mutation-intolerant genes (MIGs).

Using nonlocal spin transport measurements, the magnon diffusion length exceeds 7 μm along the a-axis of CrOCl. In contrast, diffusion along the b-axis is significantly suppressed, yielding an anisotropic decay-length ratio of ~4, in excellent agreement with both experimental & theoretical results.
Researchers from #PekingUniversity School of #Physics, together with collaborators, reported the first observation of flat-band-induced quasi-one-dimensional magnon transport in a two-dimensional frustrated striped antiferromagnet CrOCl.
