As a Brit I'm legally obligated to hate any steam loco which claims to have done 100mph before Scotsman, but honestly I'd be lying if I said I didn't kinda wanna model a few of these guys

-prototypes, I swear one company did a dodgy clone of Meccanoās LMS Duchess, and Rosebud also did a closer-to-scale kit of the same engine (which I own), but it wasnāt really until the 80s when prototype duplication became a thing (both Hornby and Lima offered many of the same diesels iirc)
Iām honestly surprised Triang themselves never attempted a Stirling Single, given they didnāt care for scale accuracy (the Deanās chassis isnāt correctly sized for the Caleyās iirc)
All the same, manufacturers did have some respect for one another back then, as they *tried* not to duplicate-
sucks that YouTube doesn't really have a propper block function. I mean it does have a "block" button but that only makes it so they couldn't comment or your shit or something, and sometimes it still recommends videos from them! I want to be able to just like never be recommended a channel again
Thanks for coming to my ted talk
Theyāre also no stranger to reselling the Thomas toolings, so doing Emily properly would actually give them a pretty good model to throw into the Railroad range, beating Rapido by a few years and saving the headache of modifying the Bachmann Emily, or finding the Rosebud kit
Hornby was no stranger to custom/modified toolings for the Thomas range (Toby, Percy, James, Bill & Ben), so it canāt have been hard to do a new body and outside motion for the Single chassis
Up until the Bachmann Emily, your only option for an OO scale Stirling Single (as far as I can find) was the Rosebud Kitmaster model of the 1960s, an unpowered kit, with a popular motorisation BEING the Triang chassis
Hornby likely only made Emily as 2007 was the same year they retooled the chassis from the Triang Dean & Caledonian Singles, with updated motors and finer wheels for use on modern equipment
Hornby Emily was a major missed opportunity (thread)
Chugs has been growing on me lately. #RankinBass
I've done my 1st test print of the Reidpath tank! It's come out quite well, but there's a few things I've got to tweak before it goes up on the shop. I recon the first batch will be up for sale in the next few days! š
The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

A traditional drawing of Alex and Lionel at a train station. Alex idles innocently while Lionel sternly looks at the viewer while pointing up at a poster on the station building which reads āNO SMOKINā UNLESS YOUāRE A TRAINā.
Happy 420 Day to those who celebrate it! Smoke responsibly and stay in school!

As is the natural order, one problems sorted, another arises, the Conrail 4-6-2 is burning up, which seems to be a common problem with these Mehano motors
Seeing the space I have in the body, I reckon I can Triang swap this fucker

hi. iām cool. follow me. ok.
A geared steam engine rounds the corner on the anchor bay project layout interurban era is building.
We all want to drive trains in a circle from time to time, some people just like to repress that facet of the hobby for perverted, artificially performative reasons.
Sometimes you just need to zone out and watch train go brrrr.
79 including the N gauge ones, fuck Iām tired after doing all that work today lol
Gone and taken all my models off the shelf, as I plan on building a new one in the near future, and figured this job will need doing anyway
77 pictured here (76 excluding Britannia, whose with a friend, 75 including the two N gauge ones), and thatās still not my entire lineupā¦
Is there any appetite for "ready to run" HO scale Interurbans? It would come with a price tag, but perhaps not as much as you may think.
Sorry I bought them all
Did I *really* blow £70 on folding tables?
Of course I did!
Wagon shelves are moved!!!
The first preparations have been madeā¦
Honestly I could probably move the rolling stock shelf tonight if I clear a path through, might give it a shotā¦
Done a little measuring and I *think* I should be able to improve my setup at my dads place, first time Iāve put any kind of thought into rearranging a room lol
Oh Iām excited for this to hit your Cults page⦠Glad my suggestion stuck, Iāll have a fun time building one :)
