Off to a slow start on #WikiTree #ConnectAThonXIII, but every addition counts.
Happy New Year, all! Here's to another year of ancestor hunting. May the records that release in 2025 break your brick walls and tie up your loose ends!

Are there any identified DNA matches between descendants of Sarah Walters and descendants of John and Sarah Walters?

Me too! I've spent far too long on it already, but I'm right back to looking at everyone else's charts.
Inspired by so many others today, here's my 6-generation origins chart

George died in November 1938.
Mona remarried in 1938.
If this was my own tree, I'd be buying some certificates for confirmation!
I've seen similar cases where couples can't divorce and just get on with their lives; remarrying as soon as one of them dies.

I have two email addresses, which made it easy. I'm signed into both accounts on this device. To switch, I go into settings and click the other account.
I've created 2 Bluesky accounts.
This one follows genealogy, history, archaeology, libraries and all that jazz.
The other is for politics and news.
This account is my "sorbet" account; my palate cleanser when the other one gets too much.

Genealogists arenβt the only people worried about fake images tainting research.
Sadly, they were well equipped to absorb this news with the benefit of practice - there was already a known tragedy in this family that was closer in time and relationship.
This isn't the first or last time I'll observe that some families seem to be dealt more than their fair share of sorrow.
Digital envy! That's so clean and neat.
Taking an idle look into a friend's family tree and what do I find? Murder, mayhem and intrigue. Gripped by a mixture of fascination and heartbreak.

I've added them to my Kindle reading list. I'm very interested in the stories of Australian pioneer families.
Rosemary, that's inspirational! How have you published your work to share - book, blog, other? Working out how to share the story is always its own challenge.
Thanks for the inspo! I do not know how long it would otherwise have taken me to take this leap. Your post gave me the push, and now I'm strutting around with my shiny custom handle. My mum would say I'm "as flash as a rat with a gold tooth".
Hi! Me too! Welcome!
The Bluesky algorithm has decided I want lots of librarian and library content, and that's absolutely fine by me. Good algorithm!
Thank you! This is so helpful for a brand new account getting started.
Hi, I'm Carol!
I started my personal family tree around 1992 and, in 1998, I impulsively named it The Mighty Big Tree.
Every branch of my family arrived in Australia in the 19th century , primarily from the UK (one random branch from Prussia).
