Reliable(ish) faster than boat travel with Sulfur Cubes

Top speed I managed to reach with no wind charges is 101.22 m/s but it will decelerate to around 50 after 1000 blocks or so without more accelerators.

Full video tomorrow on how I did it (it's extremely unethical) #Minecraft #ChaosCubed

I don't post here enough, but as of late I've been busy.

Things have slowed down now, and I can't wait to post about my work when it comes out... hopefully soon

it was fine and I even enjoyed it honestly !!!

I don't think it's inherently unethical to make a game with superficial gambling fixtures but part of me feels a little sad that the platonic ideal of the "forevergame", a game you can buy once and get unlimited entertainment out of, is shaping out to be "slot machine but you have infinite quarters"

its kind of funny to me specifically because very briefly I threw some spanish localization ideas around for chapter 3 I should go back to those at some point

I think this is another great reminder that the average person has no idea how game development works.

ohhhhh why dont they just make the game in spanish

its especially frustrating that people are getting upset at him *not* doing something because what does that leave us with. say he does do it, are you going to be upset he didnt get translators for every other language?

like just go make the game and finish it and worry about that later ugh

just saw one thats basically "hes infantilizing/devaluating translators as if it wasnt their job and they werent professionals"

I think its okay for an artist to just want full creative control of the official product !!!!! he's an indie artist ffs

everything is inspired, but integration is what sets good inspirations apart. Being able to capture what made the original special, the feeling, not just the elements of it, and I think this perfectly describes that so this is actually really useful

4 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

this is Awesome and really useful actually because each one is a step above the last. Like if you're imitating something it's likely to be because youre infatuated with it but if you integrate it, it shows a lot of love through understanding of the source material

I could probably go on about how I don't really agree with the design philosophy of the new mob and
how I think that making something with "creative use" in mind makes for substance-less features that
will be forgotten about in a few months, but I think that might be a bit harsh. Just think back to
every "creatively empowering" staple in Minecraft, at some point they were used to solve a problem
with a low skill floor.

Anyone can figure out how to use Redstone to harvest their crops with water, for example, or use
Villagers for trading. The intrinsic aspect of them is secondary to this. Even building, to an extent,
the foundation is laid as useful in survival, and you learn how to engage with it out of necessity or
as an option to solve a problem you might have, whether it's a need for resources, or a need to survive.
Everything sort of snowballs into this greater whole, where even when you're intrinsically motivated by
another feature, you have to engage with others to make it to your goal. I think that's the true magic
of Minecraft. Adding a feature that's sole purpose is to be engaged by through intrinsic motivation,
like making a Minigame or something, leads to a pretty substance-less feature.

I think a good example of this is my friend built a Happy Ghast powered elevator when they first dropped.
Totally goes against the intended use case, yet it was fun and stylish. The feature can be remembered for
its intended use, alongside its additional creatively driven uses. The feature that was first and foremost
a gameplay mechanic, lend itself to being used as something else. When people figure out how to creatively
push the boundaries of something, it becomes more memorable and interesting than when something is added
solely for the sake of "being used creatively."

But legitimately my only ask is that sulfur can be used as non-renewable gunpowder.
