I've often struggled to power my Raspberry Pi projects off-grid for long durations. I think that people who haven't tried it are underestimating how much power a Raspberry Pi needs... That's why we developed the PV PI, a #RaspberryPi HAT that can provide reliable solar battery power!

Use the PV PI to solar power your Raspberry Pi project! The PV PI can power your Raspberry Pi and other HATs from a high capacity LiFePo4 battery while charging it from a large solar panel! ##raspberrypi

It also uses the UART connection from pins 14/15. You can use extra long stacking headers to stack multiple HATs

The code for the mini version is public yes.

Yes, my larger version gets its location with gps and uses sunrise and sunset times to schedule wake times. You can do this with the Witty Pi if you want, but you have to write your own scheduling code, which I wanted to avoid for this version to make it easier for people to make.

Solar Powered #RaspberryPI?
Currently working on a HAT that can provide power and perform high power solar charging (~100W) of high capacity LiFePo4 batteries while monitoring voltage and power usage! This will allow us to power a PI 24/7 in remote locations while running computer vision tasks!

There was a lot of interest in working out how you could create capacitive touch buttons out of the 3D printed translucent LED light pipes, so I gave it a go!
I'll be posting more details soon!

There was a lot of interest in my LED display, 3D printed with translucent filament to create light pipes. This was just a proof-of-concept enclosure, but people seem to be interested in having a "ready to use" version. What characters/symbols would you like to see on the display? #3dprinting #esp32
