Calling the police "the usual suspects" for investigating a crime is a pretty special bit of political rhetoric.
Police took four witness statements from "observers", spoke to 15 returning officers, requested CCTV for 45 locations and reviewed it for four for that "whitewash", incidentally.
Something that is depressing me more and more is the litter on our roadsides. This piece on a village website is about country lanes but it’s everywhere including major roads and motorways. Where has our pride in our surroundings gone?

The New York Times reports that the Department of Homeland Security has sent Google, Meta, and other media corporations subpoenas for the names on accounts that criticize ICE enforcement. The department wants to identify Americans who oppose what it’s doing. I’ll save them time.
