Arrowsmith is my favorite too. All of his books are excellent.
For me, dragging my butt in the door is half the battle. Once I do that first set, or swim the first lap, I'm fine.
Started an #Atkins #Diet last week. I've lost 4 lbs in 5 days. Made Kimchi Soup off the Atkins diet website. Two of my grandchildren and my 98 year-old father-in-law actually enjoyed it too. Dieting is easy when you eat food you enjoy.
This is funny, and creative.
Welcome Becka. I'm Steve. We can walk this road together.
This is the most horrifying, psychotic, grotesque message Trump has ever posted—openly threatening to commit genocide. This is beyond reckless. It’s dangerous, dehumanizing, and utterly unfit for any leader.
Christopher Penn wrote: Just remember that given the abundance of neurodivergent people in science, it's far more likely that autism causes vaccines.

When I finished my dissertation, I couldn't read anything for 6 months. The joy of reading returned quickly after that. Blessings on your studies.
When you have to start stacking books on top, you’re doing good work.
Hey, billionaire tech guys; if arts degrees are so worthless why do you keep stealing all the work we created with ours?
This is the way.
Actually, I just completely relate to this dilemma.
I immediately quit reading books when you meet all 12 members of the war council at once, all with 6 syllable unpronouceable names. I prefer books, like yours, that have fewer characters.
I had a piece of chocolate pie at a restaurant recently that was exactly like my grandmother's. It took me back. Good on you for honoring your mom in this way.
one of the neat things about submitting to the fancier lit mags is that by the time they send you a rejection all the cells in your body have been replaced with newer cells, they're not rejecting you but as past version of yourself, how quaint
I'd eat that sick or healthy.

Why are there Pop Tarts, but no Mom Tarts.
It's the damn pastryarchy.
Lost a dental crown while eating Milk Duds. Hadn't eaten them in years. Probably will never eat them again. A sad day.
Harold Bell Wright's The Shepherd of the Hills is great. The Winning of Barbara Worth was his most popular book. He had at least 5 best selling novels in the early 20th Century.
Arrowsmith is my favorite Sinclair Lewis novel, but they are all striking. He got death threats from writing Elmer Gantry.

Black-and-white photograph of Ursula K. Le Guin in her later years, seated comfortably in a wicker chair in front of a bookshelf filled with books. The acclaimed science fiction and fantasy author has short white hair, warm eyes, and a gentle smile as she gazes directly at the camera. She wears a dark long-sleeved shirt, her arms crossed and resting on her lap, with a bracelet on one wrist and a ring on her finger. To the right of the portrait is the vibrant cover of the 50th Anniversary Edition of her novel The Left Hand of Darkness, featuring a bold blue starry gradient background with the title in white text and her name prominently displayed.
Ursula K. Le Guin died #OTD in 2018.
