Well worth a visit when it opens

A real treat to get another look at the new Queen Elizabeth II garden in Regents Park, London before the hoardings come down and public access begins on Monday. This is a bold, forward-looking project, a sustainable garden future-proofed for a changing climate.
Regents Park
Yes, looking forward to having a listen to what you all had to say. Interesting point about an interactive discussion. More difficult to organise I guess, but would make for a lively listen I suspect.
Great to be back on The Naked Scientists podcast this week, chatting to host Chris Smith about the why, what and where of flooding.

Yes, I can see that. And having faith that the saplings won't be browsed off by deer!
Interesting. Especially in the context of thousands of empty plastic tree guards across the country.
A very pleasant one ๐

Oh, are IKEA doing them now?
Just missed the slot for #wildflowerhour with my #brassica Wintercress! Can't resist throwing in newly opened hawthorn, a scary-looking russian comfrey and the irresistible wood sorrell.
Now there's a project ๐
Need a belay for that one
Must have been after 6 o'clock ๐
Went down to the woods today
Remarkable sound from such a small thing!
Almost electronic
Common Reed Warbler giving it big energy by the Kennet & Avon Canal *soundup!!*
Scattered feathers surrounding a bare patch in the leaf litter on a woodland floor
Sparrowhawk wos 'ere I suspect
A group of bright yellow wild primroses on a woodland floor
Sunshine on a dull day
Betjeman's 'Cathedral of Middlesex'. The Great Barn of Harmandsworth, pretty special venue for latest recording of Gardeners' Question Time.
A hedgehog crawling through a hole in a brick wall at night, under a sign that reads 'Hedgehog highway.' Ivy and dead leaves surround the hedgehog
Small gaps that make a huge difference: this is a hedgehog highway ๐ฆ
Hedgehogs can walk up to two miles a night looking for food or a mate, but their natural highways are blocked by fences and walls. Creating safe corridors from your garden to the one next door lends hedghogs a huge helping hand.
Proper fireball!
Beautiful
Ah, thought you were responding to my post about wood sorrell! No, I always have a munch of hawthorn but never tried beech
As it was such a small, lonely plant I didn't feel justified in depriving it of a leaf
The five divided white petals of a single flower of Greater stitchwort
Garlic mustard, a cluster of multiple small white flowers above large lime green leaves with serrated edges
Wild garlic, multiple star-shaped white flowers on top of a single stem above long sword-shaped leaves
Wood spurge, clusters of lime-green open bell-shaped flowers on a tall stem
It's my favourite time of year in our local ancient woodlands, as the jewels of #woodlandplants light up the leaf litter. Bluebells are really hitting their stride, but thought I would go with a supporting cast of Greater stitchwort, garlic mustard, wild garlic and wood spurge for #wildflowerhour
Freshly minted beech leaves
I found one lonely little plant yesterday, but unfortunately the two flowers had decided to stay closed.
