River flowing through a cave beneath a smooth rock arch, with moss-covered boulders, hanging branches, and filtered light illuminating the forest beyond.

This was my first time photographing a river flowing through a cave! Once inside, I knew I wanted to feature the backlit moss and somehow I managed this in a single exposure despite the tricky light.

My cover for Ethan Kocak’s comic “The Unfamiliars.” The cover depicts a chaotic scene of an anthropomorphic black cat dangling by his legs from a broom as he reaches for his hat that has been swept from his head. A newt with a sword and crossed out eyes holds onto the cat’s tail, desperately trying to avoid falling. Oblivious to it all is a stick insect perched on the end of the broom stick, her arms outstretched and a goofy smile on her face.

Hysteria, an enormous sea monster with a serpentine body. She is primarily bone white with a darker underbelly that fades from dark greys to dusty reds, occasionally being intersected by rib-like markings. She is covered in multiple bioluminescent patches and the trailing edges of her many fins are also studded with lights. She has a pair of grasping arms ending in wickedly sharp claws.
